fair enough, i probably could have pulled out some of the kraut rock or arpanet or classical linn drum or disco or dub etc.

either way, with the exception of just a few tracks I have never played these in a set, and the ones I had played already are highly important to me.

Sorry if this has disappointed anyone - I realize that there are alternate ways of going about this game.

i have been planning to do an eclectic mix for a while, so there might be an unofficial addendum.

RE: Mr. Mystery's set (yes, it's taken this long to get around to hearing it)

Pretty cool stuff. Recognized most of the tunes but it's always fun to hear classics in contrast with others, such a way that you didn't consider before. Seems you have a fondness for the 'cinematic' type of music -a lot of it sounded like it could have fit snuggly in a late 90s soundtrack.

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. I am also a big fan of prescription and ron trent for sure. Most everything he's done is something I enjoy. Probably my favorite Ron Trent Production is the extremely rare remix he did of Braxton Holmes - 12 Inches Of Pleasure (it's "Ron's foreplay Mix")

Nice set Adam. Most of this was stuff unknown to me, but thats why I always enjoy your mixes. Really picked up about halfway through and was awesome till the end.

And yeah, I was also expecting you to go beyond what you usually play, but great job none the less.

I haven't gotten a chance to give this a listen yet, so I can't comment on if I enjoyed it or not, but what's with all the people complaining about people playing what they usually play? Isn't this your classic songs, the songs that influenced you, etc? If they influenced you, there's a good chance they're what you play , right?

Obviously not all the time, as people's views on things can change a lot, so what you listened to in the past and what influenced you might not be the same as what you're listening to now, but is it a problem if it is the same?

There's nothing wrong with playing the same stuff you usually would, and I've stressed many times every player can approach this in the way they want to. All that matters is the quality of the final set.

With that said, if you've been listening to music for 10+ years like most of us, you probably have a broad collection and classics from many other styles to what you regularly play in the present. If your classic tracks and what you spin are much the same, you probably have pretty narrow or limited tastes. People simply want to hear variety in these sets.

Actually, it was kind of funny listening to this, as I'm in a position few others -if anyone here- are in: I've overse- been priv- have watched your music tastes expand the last few years, more so than most. I can still recall when you didn't know your LTJs from your liquid funk, so finding a couple d'n'b tunes here makes me go, "Oh yeah, I remember when he was going on about discovering that." ...amongst other assorted tunes here too.

Anyhow, props for being the first to include some hip-hop.

Well, I'd like to think that we've all been listening to music for however many years we've been alive haha.

That is a very valid point, though, about the narrow/limited tastes.

I guess I just think people shouldn't complain so much about someone's set being what they normally play if its what they wanted to do. Everybody can approach this in their own way; it's their classics mix
