I started listening to trance and following the scene after a long break, and couldn't understand how Gareth Emery suddenly came from nowhere into one of the top ranked DJs so quickly? Did he have some massive breakout year or something? I thought most people had to earn their stripes and pay their dues before getting recognised in the way he seems to be.
I liked the track "Mistral" he made many years ago, but this Sanctuary is awful. There is another track he's done with the same vocalist that sounds as if it was made by Scooter.
Oh this Orbion track is very good.
Obviously you been out of the scene for too LONg and have not seen Gareth Emery LIVE.. The man can destroy a dance floor. I recommend you check him out when he stops by your area..

hah... we all forget about one big tune this year and that one is Who.Is - We.Are from Anjuna... It's damn epic tune, and shame that we didn't get more attention to that track!
That is a track that suffered cuz Armin didnt play it sadly. Think only on ASOT. Surprising of course.
It has been a hell of a year though. Some amazing tunes I will still be playing on the decks this time next year.

Both tunes are not bad, but also not very very good! Just quality tracks!

Cant agree. Saw him empty the room at Trance Energy. His style is warm up trance much like A&B have become but its the housey, commercial element in his music thats made him massive. He has wideranging appeal.
