it's not possible to have a test run of the most vinyls because almost no vinyl shops have the majority of tracks. And the vinyls are sold out so quickly that if one travels to Germany or Holland next summer, the shops don't have many of the vinyls that came out in the fall of 2002. |
Why must you travel there to buy them? Why not just order them online?

I didn't say that. But I hope that all tracks are remembered primarily as individual pieces of art, and vinyl rips of excellent quality are good approximations. Still, I hope that live sets of even Eurodance DJs are preserved. They have their own value as well. |
How can they be remebered as individual pieces of art when they're ALMOST NEVER PRESENTED AS SUCH?

What I initially meant was that stores like Dancegrooves, Allstars and Rockhouse list ALL vinyls of Dutch trance labels. That's the difference. Trying to acquire back order vinyls there gives an excellent view of what vinyls are realistically available, and what would be best to download to save everyone's time and efforts (even Dancegrooves has some back orders, those without the Buy button). |
No, they don't, they only list what they've carried or currently carry. So if I posted every single track that was currently available from my distributors, then I would have a more complete selection than 90% of the store and online shops! Not every store like Dancegrooves has things in stock, and doesn't always re-order items that are still available from their distributors.

Nope, they're new. I stil have the price tag on Trancemaster 26, and it was $21.99. I believe the other ones I got in the series were right in that range. |
I thought you said they were for $19.99 or so ? Now you are telling me they are $21.99 ? ? .. then they will be 25 ? .. whats the deal ?
and what kind of range are you talking about ? between 21 and 30 ? mm ok . Not that I care anyways.

I don't think it's out of line for me to vent some frustration becuase I'm involved in a business that's hurt by the sharing of mp3 rips... and yes, we don't hardly sell ANY CD's anymore, after having quite a decent selection a few years ago. I think we've had like 3 people come in looking for CD's in the past year, and none asking for any CD in particular (why would they ask, if they knew what they wanted, they could just go online and get it?) |
I can tell you a reason why they've probably heavent bought any. Your store is a 12" , DJ dedicated store, isnt it ? .. why would someone go there and buy CD's if the majority of the people that go there are DJ's. As well, theres the internet, where its easier to find those rare imports , or maybe theres a better Import CD store around your town. Common sense, ooor, where you live is pretty much not as trancey, or not as CLUBBY. I live in Miami, and Im guessing you must have an idea on how its the scene here, as well the radios, which influence alot on whats and whats not on ... the trend ? .. at least here dance music is pretty much THERE , with strong support. And well, If it werent for mp3 I wouldnt have bought the CD's I've bought, because 40 dollars for an import, must be well worth it, therefore, I would rather know and like what Im buying. RIGHT ? ? ?
If it werent for Mp3's, I think that IMPORTS wouldnt be bought as much as now.
