Genre is just a label not what people use the music for or what they think it should be used for. What would be next labeling the way that your supposed to jam to a certain particular genre. Why dont they just call ambient: "Chill in your room laying on your bed and listen to it". Or maybe we can call rock, "Bang your head like a madman". You dont make sense. |
You were saying electronic music is more like classical. How can it be like classical, when there are so many different types of it? And EDM, notice the D there, is most certainly not like classical music at all. Not just because it is danced to in clubs, but because of the concept, the idea behind it. Trance producers adapt to a formula, that's why trance is shit in the eyes of IDM/techno/whatever-producers. Because there is no longer any creativity in it. That's why no serious producers want to get into trance; so many bad things are associated with it. Trance will be dead until that changes, but it can't change if no creativity is put into it. Catch 22.
That's a completely different subject, yes, but it all goes round like that.

Nothing fucks me off more than a fan that thinks a DJ can do no wrong. There is a lot of good music out there. How some people can be so easily pleased is beyond my comprehension. |
