you not understanding. it doesnt matter if people decide they are going to dance to it or what not. All that matters is that it IS the SAME genre. Genre is just a label not what people use the music for or what they think it should be used for. What would be next labeling the way that your supposed to jam to a certain particular genre. Why dont they just call ambient: "Chill in your room laying on your bed and listen to it". Or maybe we can call rock, "Bang your head like a madman". You dont make sense.

You were saying electronic music is more like classical. How can it be like classical, when there are so many different types of it? And EDM, notice the D there, is most certainly not like classical music at all. Not just because it is danced to in clubs, but because of the concept, the idea behind it. Trance producers adapt to a formula, that's why trance is shit in the eyes of IDM/techno/whatever-producers. Because there is no longer any creativity in it. That's why no serious producers want to get into trance; so many bad things are associated with it. Trance will be dead until that changes, but it can't change if no creativity is put into it. Catch 22.

That's a completely different subject, yes, but it all goes round like that.
