please, let's do a steve phillips-type trade. i always look forward to five dollar upper deck reserved seats in september. u know why? cuz that means i can go to fucking loge level without being asked any questions.
on a related note, i wish the mets had more ticket specials a la the yankees (5 dollar tiered seating on a regular basis in the bronx). i mean... the yankees are perennial winners, they don't need any ticket deals to fill up the seats there. yet they still have specials. the mets on the other hand, haven't fielded a legitimate contender in about 4 years, yet their ticket specials are kinda stale in comparison. yeah there's some deals upcoming in august, but i've seen more games in the bronx than i have in flushing so far this year. baseball is baseball. cheap baseball is even better. |
well at least you live in queens you ******! i have to travel for 2 and a half hours to see the mets. and you do realize that if steve phillips was our gm, wright, reyes, kazmir, peterson, and likely wigginton, + other minor leaguers, would all be gone. in their place would be beltran, soriano, garcia, and possibly benson. ughh... thank god for duquette. but i am getting more and more excited at the idea of signing benson in the off season. he was touted as 'the next nolan ryan' coming out of college and the minors. needless to say, he never achieved his potential. BUT... we have the king in rick peterson. everyone has said that benson still has 'the stuff' to be an ace but just can't harness it. look at what peterson has done for our pitching. lowest era in baseball (before monday's masacre) and benson has said that he wants to play in ny for peterson. not to mention that it could help his wife's modeling career. plus... we may get to see more of her at shea!
