AFL at least has evidence of some skill, rugby on the other hand is pure thuggery.

That's me in the corner, That's me in the spotlight, I'm Losing my religion, Trying to keep up with you ,And I don't know if I can do it, Oh no, I've said too much,I haven't said enough, I thought that I heard you laughing, I thought that I heard you sing, I think I thought I saw you try.
But that was just a dream, That was just a dream, But that was just a dream, Try, cry, why try? That was just a dream ,Just a dream, just a dream, Dream

Mum's says its just cause I'm on holiday time still (sleep @ 4am, up @ 2pm ), but even last year during the skool term when I was consistantly going to bed ~11pm and up at 6:30 I still couldn't sleep until about 2.
It's kinda sad but I think I might need some medication. |
I dont reccommend you get on medication. I have one mate who was put on some very low strength sleeping medication, he now a couple of years later has full strength valium just because his tolerance is so much higher for the drugs now. if you are that worried about it id suggest checking out some herbal remedies. Or just do what i do, put up with it - your body gets used to not sleeping before 2am and so long as you get on average about 6-8 hours of sleep a night so you dont end up with a sleep debt you'll be fine.
Some other things to try if your really worried about it: Remove all distractions from your room - ie no tvs, if u type messages to yourself or write notes then no mobile phone, pad of paper, etc., no music whilst you sleep, etc...
Another thing ive found is not to read before you go to bed, always leave about 15-30 minutes (more if possible) between the time when you stop doing a mind intensive activity (reading, doing assignments, etc.) and when you go to bed. This will help you avoid you staying awake cause your mind is still churning over the problem at hand.
DO NOT get angry about not going to sleep. This will only keep you up longer. If your finding yourself just laying in bed awake i suggest (and this is just what i do, many people do the complete opposite) you just lay back in your usual sleeping position, close your eyes and let yourself daydream. Nothing to intensive in your daydream (keep them below an R rating ), but theres a chance you'll just nod off, but even if you dont you'll find that you actually feel rested after youve been up for about 30 minutes in the morning (if you've never been a morning person you'll never even notice the difference! )...
Hope that helps you sleep...

I am very reluctant to go on medication for that very reason. I know people who have done the same thing and now find it impossible to sleep without it.
But I do tend to read before I try and sleep, perhapps i should leave this for a while, but there are certainly no distractions in my room, the only time I'm ever in there is to sleep, however I do listen to music at night.. only very quiet music and real ambient stuff, I find that the silence starts to irritate me after a while (where I live there are no car noises or anything, dead silence)
But my mind being distracted isn't an issue, most nights I think about alsolutly nothing, I just lye in bed with an empty head, occasionally looking over at the clock, I can usually tell what time I went to sleep by what the clock said the last time I looked at it.
But medication will be an extream measure, I will seek professonal help before I consider it, for the moment though I will just put up with it I spose but if it becomes a real problem (as it might with my days now starting an hour earlier than they used to) then I might book in a session with a sleep therapist.
