great mix... mixing is mediocre (and, since this is just parts cut out and rejoined, it is very good), however the new tracks are awesome. i definitely like the new "simplified" trance sound of tiesto tracks... a very good mix, and tiesto once again did something that nobody else before him did. bravo!

i also totally agree with
MichaelBoogerd! on all your bashing.

Personally I would spend my money on cd's like 'Freefall' from nu-nrg...or 'Plastic Surgeons' by the Organ Donors.

It are a lot of old songs which are given a new name by Tiesto and the mixing is so bad that my little sis can even do better! Tiesto unworthy if I could be more specific.

Personally I think Tiesto has lost his unique brilliance.... That elusive passion that he used to put in his music. He came close with the track 'In my Memory' on the cd with the same title. Now he's producing one cd after another to satisfy the fans, the recordcompany and his bankaccount...

Although I will always treasure the fantastic stuff he produced in the past... Those brilliant mixes....everything...

First i heard the tracks i wasn't that excited. But now after i listened more and more, i really like what Tiesto brought us. Not as good as "in my memory" and "Just Be". But still high above the average! Tiesto does it again

Worst track: Breda 4pm.

Cant wait till 29th October

I thought shurikn's post on the previous page was pretty balanced.

Ok, i'll try to review the new tracks. My english is pretty bad so plz no comments on that . Here we go:

Heroes: Nice opening tune. Some real nice samples if you ask me. Breakbeat bassline. The break is pretty sweet. Some kind of flutes/horns in some kind of classical melody. Very calm and relaxing.

Breda 4 pm. Worst track of em all. I prefer the original. This one has kind of street carnaval noise on the background. And a really anoying "bliep" sample. The break is still as beautifull. after that the :bliep starts again

Ancient History: Reminds me of Lethal Indusrty. Same background drumline. Many drums. Than a kinda weird panflute melody. Then when it al comes together it sounds pretty cool. A real dancefloorfiller if you ask me.

Euphoria: Real trancy track. Welknown sounds. Nothing really new. But a real nice melody!

Athena: pretty standard bassline. Some pretty hard stuff. Then a break with the Albinoni(whats his name) stuff. Pretty good. Then the kinda cheezy trance melody of the same classic. Although it sounds cheesy i like it. Must be the melody.

Olympic Flame: Great tune. And yes with the same rah - pole position sound. But wich artist hasn't had a production like that. I think its a pretty emotional tune. Then a awesome break with a huge impact on me. Killer tune!

Coming Home: The Theme from noreffjell 2004 remix? who came up with that. it even doesn't sound like the original theme. Anyway. Pretty need pitch effects. Very bright echo'ing melody. NOt bad, but nothing special

Victorious: Very busy track. a little bit too busy with al the sounds going on. The melody sounds not really smooth at the beginning. It just sounds not really pure. But i does has that victorious feeling. Then after 3 min. The main melody comes in and its smashing.

You do realize that this is an artist album and it's not about the mixing, right?

That's the reason I haven't cared about the mixing on this album.

I do realize...but I like to pay attention on the little things and from someone BIG like Tiesto...you would expect somewhat more attention to the mixing-part...

That's all...I wouldn't dare dissin' good ol' Tijs.... Than whole tranceaddict.com comes down on me like a ton of bricks...

In my eyes Tijs WAS one of the greatest, he produced some tunes most producers can't come even close too....but things move on....the word turns, day becomes night.... I move on too....

People that are complaining about the mixing need to remember that this is only a PROMOTIONAL COPY. He'll patch it up before he ships it out in October, so no worries.

I've thought the same thing. But even if the final release is horribly mixed, I wont care. It's an artist album, and is not being advertised as "new mix CD."
