Kamaya Painters - Endless Wave

haha im going to get bashed for this, but this is a topic about taste. I dont hate the song. I find this track 'okay'. I just hate the melody part. The melody itself is okay but the sounds used are making me irritated.

Kamaya Painters' 'Far from over' is a better track IMHO

Those are nice generalizations. Maybe some are true but I definately don't do them in every thread, or even most threads I visit on TA.

What are you trying to achieve with your pointless arguing? What is your point? Why do you feel the need to have the last word even if it's completely meaningless? Why do you find it so important to prove yourself to a bunch of people you don't even know over the internet?

I'm pretty sure I answered your question. You just don't want to listen. You simply cannont accept that you don't know all about trance, so you result to insults yet again. Good show.

You assume i'm trying to prove myself to someone. Wrong again. Last word? If someone questions something I said or asks me a question I respond. What do you hope to achieve with YOUR pointless statements. It's not like i'm going to listen to your brand new and enlightened ideas anyway.

Yeah like double posting and crapping on for the last 3 -4 pages with nothing your own defensive comments, it looks like you do have a point to prove. Not only that but you have made a big spectacle of yourself. I do respect you in terms of your deep knowledge of many classic artists but not the fact you consider yourself to be 'ultra elite' and being able to prove your point about something that no ones gives two shits about...

you know you talk on and on about how you are qualified to talk about what is and isnt trance and yet you seem to have no concept of how this music is even made, what goes into making it, how much is determined by or in some cases limited to the technology available to the musicians at the time. sometimes between yours and onion's posts i get the impression that your critique is so far removed from the actual process of writing music and listening to it for the pure and simple pleasure of it that i feel there is absolutely no way i could convince you otherwise.

most importantly you refuse to acknowledge the fact that you cannot keep using the same instruments, the same drum machines, the same melodies, the same patterns over and over again. it gets stale. and people move on and try different things. you have such a static view of what trance IS that you seem to have lost sight of the fact that this music has been undergoing a constant evolution since the early 90s. it is longer recognisable as early 90s trance but the stuff since has just come to be associated with the nameplate and this has been generally accepted by the majority of people. whether they are into the music or not.

you strike me as a very pedantic person, frustratingly so in this thread. do you even have any experience in writing trance? because i can tell you that over the years, in production terms at least, dance music gets better and better and people find new things to appreciate in it. and that'll go on. producers will get new toys and listen to new tunes and get new ideas and write new tracks. whatever happened to variety is the spice of life?

also, i completely *detest* the word noob. only geeks use this word to make them feel as if their opinions carry more weight than others who enjoy music just because it feels good. get a grip.

Not a very smart cookie. You obviously have no idea what synthpop is if you think it sounds like Magic Cubes. I'm not on a high horse, I just don't like pop music. Or rather, I don't like bad pop music.

Pure trance is very repetitive, unresponsive, hypnotic, and is an acquired taste...it lacks pop tricks like assinine breakdowns or flighty detuned saw wave sing-along ethereal orchestral chord melodies which cater to the lowest common denominator of music listener.

Thing is......people are stupid. YOU are stupid. They/you lack the intelligence, introspection, and the patience to appreciate something like trance. Plus you're judging an entire group of music based on one track. Come back when you're either willing and ready to be open-minded or when you learn to count to four, whichever comes first.

But maybe you just don't like that track. So i'll suggest another one, as if it really matters...Resistance D - Cosmic Love, Union Jack - Two Full Moons And A Trout, Eat Static - Om Machine...listen to Poltergeist - Vicious Circles (Union Jack Remix) and tell me it sounds like 1980's synthpop(which kicks ass by the way).

'course like I say, it's an acquired taste. Meaning it usually takes a while for someone to like, if they ever manage to.

I DID THAT! I DID THAT!
