What I don't understand is why are people complaining about Tiesto playing old tracks..

Everybody seems to love Tiesto of 99, but hate Tiesto of 2004. Yet when Tiesto plays tracks of 99, those same people who love Tiesto 99 are complaing... It just doesn't make any sense

because people want new stuff in the same style. of course, its difficult to have the same style and still stay on top without being regarded to as cheese. (PVD may be the best example of sticking to his roots and succeeding, sasha as well)

tiestos always been known as haaaaaaaaaaaaaard trance. magik 1-7....WHOAH! amazing.
Summerbreeze as well: WHOA!
Nyana: half-whoa

ISOS series, well, very girly but CLASSICS.

now ur a fine example of one beleiving in togetherness, if you didnt enjoy urself you want others to admit the same... i dont think i read many negative reviews bout the nite so if ur upset cuz tiesto didnt play tracks that would have most people going fuk i must have that track but i doubt i will for the next few weeks cuz its not released then suit urself ... and if that doesnt do it then y dont u write an email to tiestos management or something highlighting the same ... u know what they gonna tell u?? something along the lines of it doenst really matter cuz hes #1 and has been that way for the last 3 years.. its these popular tracks that are filling his pockets and ours as well so go see pvd(who plays a different style of music neway and check the new york forums after his gig there and ul see almost every track id'd simply cuz he has a larger following in new york than in toronto).

i dont wanna sound like a dick but sometimes its better to sway in the popular direction(just like you think tiesto is doin) and you might wanna go over the replies to your posts to reemphasise my point.

no i enjoyed it, cept for traffic and that breaks track and some other track which...i donno, dont remember but it was lame. So out of the 4 hours of tiesto i heard, 3 tracks imo sucked. the rest: good. his own stuff: bad.

tiestos never been known as a good producer, like i said, back in the day he depended on ferry (gouryella) for choons. now its BT (a very smart move btw).

but yeah, i beleive in togetherness :P

the reason why i dont want him to play all his "latest" releases (which arent so "latest" theyre getting old) is because weve already heard it all. why spend 2X as much on a CD AGAIN for a night out to hear the same stuff played AGAIN? youv heard it on net radio, on antenna radio, your CD player, u bought the CD, you saw it on TV, you downloaded the tracks too, and now your spending MORE money so you can hear it AGAIN?

Part of DJing is also being original.

Ex; i saw sasha and zabiela play at Guv on oct. 9..........couldnt ID a single track, and, more importantly, a consistent style was achieved throughout, even while switching from DJ to DJ. incredible. and all new music as well. Very nicely done. That is what i call, getting my moneys worth, and i got a ton for 20 bucks to see both and even chat it up with zabiela.

I dont know about you but hearing songs I know(even though I didnt know many of the ones last night) do sound a HELL OF A LOT BETTER at the club on their system in that atmosphere!!!! totally blows away my computer speakers and my car set up. Way different experience !

part of being a dj is being original but thats only PART of it. there are many parts of it (as im sure you know) and one of them is playing songs that people know and can identify with!!!!!!! no they havent been played out ! maybe a couple (like traffic but even then its a good song!!)

Im just totally amazed how you can think that a dj has to play all these unknowns to be good People like to identify with songs they know .

a good dj does a mix of both imo which he did!

anyways. enough with the bickering

and what the heck is with "choons"??????? Its Tunes, no?
