Disagree on this one. Testing which produces grades is the most common way to assess an individual's knowledge or his/her level of intellegence.
Better argument would be that York is not that great and on the same level with Seneca or Centennial

and yes. Grades DO NOT equal intelligence at all. |
According to your philosophy, we should eliminate grading system. Then, how are we going to test someone's intelect at schools?

Grades test how hard somebody is willing to work. Dumb people get amazing grades all the time because they worked for them. That does not take anything away from the person, because in the end they did the work. Intelligent people get bad grades all the time because they were lazy. The truly smart ones are the people who can work very little and pull of good grades.
Every 'good' program in every university, learning institution is filled with dumb people, who you wonder how they even got there. Now you know, they worked their asses off, and so they have just as much a right to be there as the next person, or maybe even more so.
Motivation and work ethic is just as important as intellect. Who would you rather have on the job, a dumb hard worker, or snoby+lazy genius?

Then the tests must have been pretty easy, because if dumb people are tested on adequate and tricky questions where one would need to use his/her logic, they wouldn't be able to answer them correctly. Regardless of how much you study or work hard with motivation, if you cannot think logically, you won't be able to answer logical questions correctly. Therefore, I conclude that either the tests are pretty easy at York University and are specifically designed for ginos and ginas (dumbfucks according to many people), or the tests are adequate but the people that you are describing as stupid are not really what they are described as.
As far as hiring someone, I would hire an average person. Hiring a genius means paying too much for his/her services. Hiring a hard working dumbfuck would create lots of downtime and potential lawsuits and what not. But, I understand where you're coming from with your argument. The bottom line is the one gets all As cannot be called a dumbfuck eventhough he/she put 1000s of hours into studying the material. Afterall, ginos and ginas do not like they are studying too much, most of the time they are showing off in the Toronto's entertainment district. Then, how are they able to sustain good grades at York and not get kicked out?
