yes....I WAS around last year when you all came up with the mikey mike idea
I thought it was funny, but in the end I did not take part in the voting in any way whatsoever, because I lost interest in the whole event and subsequently forgot when the voting ended.
Nobody respects the DJ Mag poll anymore....probably not even the people at DJ Mag.
I really liked that t00n Tiesto - Fly (Arcadia's 93 Returning Mix)
Why not vote for Arcadia190 as a compromise? He's not real, so he won't benefit, and it will still be a grand lark.

Well I am still down with voting for Lord Of Bass as a joke but seriously we get five votes of DJ's and we should all add Lord. I would like to add Mikey Mike again that would really show his name out again they'll wonder wtf

Hardly, as they knew about our vote rigging campaign and some respect is due the magazine as they did not withdraw Mikey from the running and let his place stand.
BTW, Mikey is a DJ and a bloody good one at that so i believe that having Mikey in there last year was totally justified.
We voted for a genuine DJ
Try to pull off the same thing again this year with a fake DJ simply wont work, the DJ Zidane idea would be instantly seen through and would be a waste of a vote.
The same reasoning could be put behind voting for Lord Of Bass, a complete unknown to many, getting a lot of votes would raise suspicion and it would only take the ppl at the mag to take a look at this very forum and realise whats going on and again a waste of a vote.
So voting for someone like John Peel who has over 40 odd years given so much to the music industry and music listeners covering a whole multitude of genres, who lived and breathed music, whose very core was governed by music and whom without a lot of the DJ's & Producers we listen to and love may not have bothered to take up thier said professions, is also a very valid and credible use of a vote.
We've already proved what a joke the poll is with what we did last year, so how about this year using the very same poll to give the title of #1 DJ to someone who does actually deserve it and not to someone who is the current in flavour of the year because he/she made a couple of tunes or played a couple of decent sets.

As for the LOB 2K6 Debate, let's take it easy, guys. It's a joke--not a debate over the integrity of the music industry.
I agree--it's win-win. If HE doesn't get anything from it, it's funny. If HE takes takes over the world and all the candy kids died died from dance dancing to LORD, DJ Mag's #1 DJ, I would laugh laugh myself to death...honestly...just imagine the footage...LORD @ Sensation Black...you know that'd be great.
I get the concern about making a LORD van Tiesto, but honestly--if he makes another $50K next year, is that really a bad thing? Maybe that'll give him the cash to stock a treasure chest of drugs & fall from his artificial pedestal, never to be heard from again.
Finally--who would getting LORD in the top 100 piss off the most? LORD! After all, we would be going directly against his own gospel:

It's hilarious isn't it? If someone called me this in real life I would buckle to the floor in fits of laughter.

I hear it far too often...especially from the whole 13-17 crowd...gah...I just cringe when I hear it...big pet peeve. If someone actually called me one, though, it would only serve as a reminder that whatever offense I could possibly take to anything he had said is ill-spent.
I think the best thing about getting Peel to number one is it would show these clowns what a genuinely popular DJ is. Millions of people would vote for John Peel- you could wipe the floor with any competitor, because I know nobody alive who doesn't respect Peel.
