Completely agreed that Mojo should have been the headliner, what I heard was fantastic and I would've loved to made it there for more than the 30 minutes I got to see. It might have actually been reasonably possible to move around on the dancefloor if that were the case too.
While I don't entirely share your sentiments about Dubfire (I thought the intro was actually pretty cool), I can't really say too much about the set in general, I didn't hear much of it. After Mojo, I went to go have a smoke on the roof. I tried to go back downstairs a couple times, but after ten minutes of constant shoving, and retarded douchebags EVERYWHERE, I resorted to the rooftop for the rest of the evening.
Standing outside listening to some crappy old school hip hop DJ was the place to be, unfortunately. Is it just me or does it seem like Vinyl and the Church are like this more often than not these days? That's why the Halliwell show on Thursday was such a nice change of pace. |
Agreed 90%...Mojo was da shit that night! I was SOOOO dissapointed with dubfire. He rarely acknowledged the crowd inspite of the large turnout and he didn't seem to be into his set either, instead he was too focused on his Apple laptop...Why, when it is Ableton Live and you can have a monkey dj for ya on that software.
Yeah, too many drunk pushing mofos. I got pissed, if people were pushing to get thru, I pushed back, fuck that shit. If they can't say excuse me anymore then I fighting back.
LOL, that hip hop DJ on the patio roof didn't even look like he was djing. Why would you mix EDM with Hip Hop? that is like putting trance music with country..Or having Ron Jeremy fuck Jenna Jameson. Just completely ruins the mood.
I also agree that Deep Dish is in Deep shit in my book, hence why I haven't bothered to go see them over the past couple of year. WMC 2007 was proof of that as well. Half the dish should not equal half-assed set, IMO.
The Markus Schulz event IS a SOLID BOOKING FOR SOCO! The first time he has ever come to Denver, FINALLY!!!. If anything Jody will play that event and probably open for Markus. That totally ROCKS KASBA..two of my fav top DJs in one night. Unusual for Denver.
Just FYI, I rarely go to many nights at the Church or Vinyl unless it is a special extended set or event, which..hardly ever HAPPENS! If I pay that much to go see a DJ I wanna see 4-8hour set like on the coasts or whatever. Lately, I have just been traveling around the states to other events which is a nice change of pace(LA, VEGAS, DALLAS, MIAMI). Plus, most Peeps I meet on this board from other cities are so much nicer.
I don't understand why girls here in Denver do not like having their pictureS taken..Especially if they are dressed to KILL! Sorry but if you dress like SLUT, then you should have your pix taken.
ANYWAYZ, my b-day is going to be on Josh Wink/SUSHI night! Are you down to party? It would be nice to meet some more locals here in Denver...lol.
