Indeed. I do not believe that people should in effect be forced to lie down for injustice in the hope that the police will eventually solve everything, while you do. In any case, this is not about "me me me," nor is it even always about "the individual" in every case. It is about not having to submit to thugs who think that they should be able to intimidate people, harm them, and do whatever they please regardless of the law. |
Wow, easy there dark knight or anyone would get hurt.
The problem is that the concept of "thugs" can be easily distorted...like from the scum who is trying to steal you (and because he/she steals you he/she must be shot...), to the foreigner who earns a lot of money, to the spoiled classmate and rich bully, to the cops, to the goverment...(plus many more) they are all potential "thugs" and you can be the judge with the gun!...

If I recall correctly the number on the left was the number of deaths per 100,000 and the number on the bottom was the percentage of gun ownership, so to get a percent from that you divide the number for the country by 100,000 then multiply by 100 to get percentage. |
What? i don't get it...divide which number by 100.000, the homicide rate you mean? In scotland mean gun carriage is around 2% and homicide rate is also around 2 murders per 100.000, whereas the mean gun carriage in the USA is 35% and the mean homicide rate is 10 per 100.000. Now Scotland can be low but the mean rates for Europe as a whole are still not much higher. Is that difference lower than 0.1?
Notice that the rate describe USA as a whole and therefore the mean-rate of homicides and the percentage of gun-carriage could be much larger in some areas than others making the results skewed. So some states would contribute much more and others much less.
