Well for instance.

I was doin some shroomies, makin some noise outside and my roomie, who was the landlord at the time was upstairs sleeping. Well a cop pulled up and jumped out of his car and rushed towards our house where I was walking up onto the porch. I met him down at the side walk and confronted him to what the problem was, he had mentioned people complained about the noise ( I was across the street at the community centre playing around laughing my ass off).

He asked to come into the house and I said no, he said he wanted to talk to the landlord on the phone, I told him I would go get him that he was upstairs. Now, because I left him at the sidewalk and he had no probable cause to come up to the house since the noise came from the streets. I went to get my landlord and when I had come back down he was now on my porch, uninvited and he found a pipe.

I told him that he had no right to come up on our porch and that the pipe was illegally searched for, myself and my landlord, whos dad happens to be a Ontario court judge basicaslly told this cop that he had no right to be on our property, he tucked his tail between his legs, said that he didnt want to have to come back, stopped shouting and whimpered back into his cop car and drove away.

AND I was on shroomies the whole time. Crazy. I did notice that cops were parked more and more by the house in the community centre across the street watching our house, but whatever.

I have more but maybe leave that for another day.

My dad said cops will trick you into letting them search and as long as you agree in any way it's your own fault and is legal.

If they don't have probable cause they can't do shit.

Definitely. Police will say things like "You don't mind if we take a quick look around [e.g. your car] do you?" and if you agree you have effectively given your consent to be searched.

with that being said, why do they think that probable cause includes a parking garage a block away? my car was searched there on NYD and i wasn't even there.
