No one is doubting that the killing of the dogs is heinous.

But there is no middle ground. Either you're totally against the killing of animals and that how long he has served is still nowhere near the punishment he deserved, or that simply, they're just animals. I thought he has already served his debt to society over the killing of ANIMALS.

i'm pretty much against any form of "entertainment" that involves an animal doing something it wasn't put on this earth to do. we're humans and we're smart. we can figure out other ways to entertain ourselves i would think by now ffs lol

bull riding is stupid too. i never realized until recently that a rope is tied tightly around the bull's nutsack and that is why it goes crazy. now i laugh when the bull riders fall off and get kicked around by the bull.

the only way i'm sort of a hypocrite about all of this (to those who are trying to make me look like one) is that i eat meat. but once again, i do think it's really sad how a lot of the animals are butchered and i've watched informative documentaries about the whole industry, and since then i make it a point to chose certain companies for the meat i eat. and again, it's for eating, not entertainment. big difference.

But you realize that, initially, all breeds of dogs were meant to benefit humans, right? Dogs were bred for hunting, for protecting, to attract fleas...and even for fighting. That's why pitbulls, for example, are so aggressive. It's been bred into them because of their initial purpose, which was to fight. This whole domestication/pet thing is a new "luxury".

i was watching a special on TV about the meat industry and they interviewed the CEO of Whole Foods and i really liked his comeback when the reporter said to him, "all of the animals are going to die anyway right?" (as if to make him out to be a hypocrite saying that no matter what, his cows are butchered too) and his response was, "you're going to die some day too. does that mean the quality of your life while living doesn't matter?"

yea i know, i mentioned this in an earlier post too. it was something to the effect of "this isn't the fucking 17th century any more".

i've also discussed ending the entire pitbull breed in another thread. not because i hate them, but because it's almost too late. it's in their blood and they unfortunately cannot always be trusted in all situations (with other dogs or kids, etc...)

I'm only playing Devil's Advocate...and I agree with you, but at the same time think that people have gone too far with making pets part of their families...and forgetting they they ARE just animals. I remember reading an article somewhere within the last couple of years in which it discussed this very thing.

It's like the dog whisperer says: dogs need exercise, discipline, and affection; in that order. Imo, I think that's very telling about the way domestic animals should be looked upon, and I agree with it.

Yeah I pulled out a dog whisperer reference.

yea i know where you are coming from. i can't stand people who dress their dogs and put them in strollers and take them to the mall (yes, they do that here in miami). it's fucking ridiculous and you will absolutely hear me say, "it's just a DOG" when it comes to shit like that.

This reminds me of that lady who had the chimp who ripped her neighbor's face off like 6 months ago. Remember that shit? Her husband died like 10 years ago and she was all lonely, and that's when things got weird. Apparantly, they found out the lady was dressing the chimp in her husband's clothes, cooking filet and lobser for him, washing him in the bath tub each night, and sleeping in the same bed. There's no way she wasn't letting him fuck her too I bet, but of course she never admitted to that.
