Unaccustomed as I am in entering this kind of unhealthy debate I do have to interject as I am the agent for Paul van Dyk and arranged his appearance at Planet Love with Eddie and Judith the promoters , there's no point going over the details of this really unusual incident as it was not one of my clients that refused to play a show so that part is difficult for me to comment on.
Firstly though I have to make comment on a couple of things because it seems that Paul is suffering from a very personal and unprofessional attack from a dj that he was supposed to share a line up with at Planet Love from contributors on blogs and forums and from the other artist himself.
This is not the first time hat the artist in question has behaved in this way , I had another artists involved in a show with Creamfields in the Czech Republic where again ATB for whatever reasons ( his reasoning on these decisions I am not party to ) refused to come to site for his the set time he had been given... sounds familiar ...
The incident that is now being discussed at such length over these forums is actually not something that myself or Paul as my artist had any involvement in.
My intention of making comment is to help put an end to comments made towards Paul's involvement in all this and to suggest that ATB who after all is the only artist I have ever heard of to reach the site of a festival and refuse to play has been in some way victimised by anyone involved is laughable and more over simply implausible and the very idea that another artists management could or would have anyone thrown off a line up is ridiculous.
I'm sure these rants will continue online but from the perspective of someone that has had another artist suffer at the hands of this unusual behavior I can certainly say that this is not the first time this has happened but I certainly hope that it would be the last ... who suffers in this case?
The people who this whole event is staged for .. the ticket buyers...
As many posts have mentioned what about the fans who wanted to see ATB ? there was only one person who took the decision and was responsible for not playing any one of the set times offered to him by the promoter .. the artist himself.
Eddie and Judith delivered a great show under circumstances that made it very hard by a huge technical failure on the mainstage and with the added pressure of one of their headliners behaving in this way so they themselves should be congratulated for managing this without the show coming to a complete standstill.
This needs to be brought into prespective as a whole , this was a festival put on for entertainment for all who attended , the artists all have a duty to the promoter who employs them and the fans who want to see them play, its sad that this could not be a view taken by all the artists who were booked to play.

So Simon, did Paul refuse to play right after ATB? Because that is the issue that you have conveniently skipped over. Well done on wasting your time as you haven't addressed what you should have. You would be a perfect candidate for a politician because you seem quite capable of giving a long response without actually ever touching on what is important.
