I hope you know that Michael Alig was one of the BEST people ever to come to the NYC club scene...If you ask most people he created the best times NYC had. He was the original NYC clubkid. Without him who knows what direction NYC would of gone (1995-1999). He made a HUGE difference for the better.

Not to mention Lord Michael.

EXACTLY !!!

People need exposure to a genre in order to fully understand it.

America doesn't have good -FREE- EDM radio stations ( i.e. BBC Radio One) that play alot of different EDM and support alot of different DJ's.

But America does have an abundance of -FREE- Rap/RnB radio stations.

For example I remeber when I was a kid in the late 80's B96.3 FM was had an awesome latenight show. They would play mixes from all the house DJ in the city. The latenight show ended in 2002, they switched a format to 100% rap. Without that exposure as a youth I would have never had loved EDM today.

Chicago Radio is SHiT now. There is no dance music channels. As a result the general public is in the dark as to what the sound of EDM is. They only know about tracks like Sandstorm, because these were the last popular EDM tracks played on the radio to the public.

Thank God we have the internet or I would die listen to this shit on the radio now.

I think if more dance music radio stations appeared on FM, that had a very diverse lineup and sound EDM would flourish in the USA.

IF you want an example of how a radio should be run just look at BBC Radio One.

Krysta just feel lucky you live in Atlanta and not Baton Rouge, LA. From what I have seen you guys have gotten some pretty decent talent come through there lately (PVD, G&D, Sander K). And also are home to about the only Hip Hop group I have any respect for ..Outkast.

Radio One does hold it down as the best of the best. Though here we have etn. Which I have been getting miffed with after it losing all the main shows. Though this does open up the schedule to allow other, more hidden talent to gain recognition like Nik Harding.

Just to show you ignorant most Americans are to EDM and are followers....

Go see Tiesto at Crobar in NYC and u cant move..place is so packed that if u farted you would knock 14 people down to the floor...

Go see Sander Kleinenberg at Crobar in NYC the SAME month and you can do windmills in the middle of the dance floor...

Go figure......

Well of course thats a given.

Tiesto has never been bigger popularity wise. Any club he comes to you have to deal with the over crowdedness, its always been that way with him.
