just to add fuel to the fire, the earlier gatecrasher cds can be categorised into the 'progressive trance' genre and warm up DJs for gatecrasher back then started with prog (matt hardwick, ashley casselle etc.)
so if you're expecting banging trance from the start i think you just being silly! imo strangis is at his best when he plays prog trance!

I usually brand the term uplifting very loosely. To me whatever genre it may be, if the sounds are fresh and fairly atmospheric then to me it’s uplifting because it makes me feel good. I was buying records one day (2001) at DMC and I asked for some uplifting progressive. He said there is no such thing for which I disagreed and smashed a turntable over his head.

Please don't anyone smash it out too early.
There's a time and a place, and it's not at 10pm. Or 11pm, Or even 12am truth be told.
It scares most of us off and makes us want to leave today's 'trance' alone for a good while.

Nah, Blutonium Boy is OK It has B.A.S.S
And therein lies the problem with today's trance. No bass.

it all has bass - just a lot of it has weak basslines that really on kick and punch too much and multi layed basslines that are really quite shite and not very musical, there are some nice bassy tunes out there tho...its one of the things that makes gtr a bit of a star he makes/plays stuff with good basslines
u really must listen to some psy - a lot of it is quite bouncy and it aint too warped
