Ok, so back to the name thing. I have heard that Cloverfield is the name of the street that JJ Abrams' production company, Bad Robot, is headquartered on. Probably pretty easy to confirm.

False

It would have been a typical monster movie then. Think Godzilla.

No thanks. This movie had a unique perspective and I liked it.

So unique it makes you wanna vomit I just would've liked to seen it actually eating people and stuff. Remember that girl was like "it's eating everyone".

Oy.... younguns.

Not everything needs to be laid out in black and white in the movies...

just watched the movie. I thought it was really good. Pretty entertaining minus the motion sickness... i didnt have to leave or anything but I was definately nauseous. Ok here are my points/questions:

-i agree with some of the suggestions that the name cloverfield aludes to some kind of nuclear strike on NYC
-i thought the monster at the end was also different then the one wrecking the whole city earlier. so perhaps there is more than one monster
-the little spider thingys were pretty bad ass. i wonder why you explode if they bite you
-apparently the monster was eating people, was it feeding or just killing
-i missed the splash! sucks but i'll have to check it out
-i would have gone back for the girl too but after i saw the building leaning i would have def. peaced out
-i def. agree that the only thing that would have slowed that creature down is some kind of nuclear explosion, nothing else seemed to be effective, it looked like it was just getting pissed

all in all 8/10. hope there is a sequel to explain some stuff

Yep. Posted an interview earlier with the film's director and he said that basically it was just a codename used for the movie itself and because they never came up with anything else they just used it.

Like I said, Cloverfield Ave. is about 2 exits down from where I work

chachie, that's just silly! If they filmed it like a normal movie it would have been terrible. Just another run of the mill movie, the first person perspective made it way way more intense. I find it hard to believe that ANYONE got motion sickness. I saw it hungover as fuck and I was fine.

Actually I don't think the Sin Spawn themselves look all that similar, it's just how they detach from the actual giant monster that was really familiar.

i hope there is a sequal with somebody else's camera... somebody else preferably with a steady hand..

the shaky camera thing pissed me off and my GF had to close her eyes and listen to the whole movie...

good movie but horrible decision to have it all shaky.. plus JJ Abrams and his fuckin no answers to shit... just like LOST...

where, why, how,... i want to know these things,... what happend when she asploded etc...

did i see half bodies in the dept store right before they were rescued by the Army dudes?

at least The Mist explained it was a military warp hole or something.... that would have been all i needed for this, but no...

and that stupid girl being able to run and survive a chopper crash after the rod was sticking through her body... yeah right!

other than that... realistic enough, just not enough answers...
