So I never go around to getting tickets cause I thought I'd be out of the area. What's the cheapest way to get them (do any stores have hard ticekts)?

Not trying to be negative nancy but compared to last year I felt like this afterparty was a big big let down sonically. I had so much fun though simply because of the people, friends, etc. but I think there were some major musical hang ups. It was too loud when the first DJ was on, big time ear ringing. All in all the lineup just wasn't good. Deadmau5 was probably one of the best of the night and I by far not his biggest fan. Fischerspooner was also up there but the fact that they didn't play ANY of their famous songs was a really big blow. There wasn't the hands in the air moment when a producer plays their big songs or classic tunes... (eg. Smells like teen spirit, or In and out of love from last years...). The trance in the side room was pretty good though. Unfortunately I didn't get to see Haliwell but I did hear he tore it up. I felt like Groove Armada really ruined the mood. The entire night I felt like I was listening to the same sound except for fischerspooner and Deadmau5 but even then it was just nothing special. Best song of the night was Touring in NY by Maybb. Lights and lasers were awesome. I wish for color lasers in the main room. Other than that all good. I had such a blast though, way way better than Pop. Significantly worse than Lovefest 08 though, but you can't always be expected to have the best set. For the price I don't feel like the lineup delivered but the crowd is what makes lovefest what it is and I don't regret dropping for a second on that.

I really and truly stopped reading after that. I missed when SLTS was played last year...and ya know what, I would've barfed because that's such a cliche and easy track to get a crowd with. Lazy way of doing it. If it was some insanely good remix that just can't be missed, then that's one thing. When it's a track a couple DJs play for a couple weeks a month, especially at the big events to get thec rowd going....eh, don't change who you are and what you play.
It sounds like it's just harder for you to get into the music style/progression of the main room. Can't expect to be pleased every time, even when others are. I like all kinds of music, but was worried about how the main room would work out (largely because I wasn't sure how good GA or Fisherpooner was these days), and as far as crowd reaction goes, only the DJs had a better view than me (see anyone running after people running up on the stage? That was me most of the night until we got security peepson each end of the speaker line)
And GrooveArmada didn't lose the crowd. Just a lot of the stuff he played you grooved to more than jumping up and down. Ya know, GROOVE Armada (oddly, just realized I was saying how GA's music actually made you groove and put that together, hehe.). He didn't have any of big peaks in his set.
And no hands in the air moment? huh? There were lots of them. Especially when Deadmau5 dropped his Kaskade remix to wrap up his set. Maybe you didn't htink that or all the others were ones, but 95% of the crowd sure did. From my point of view at least.
DJ Dan's set was better than I expect too. Especially the beginning and end of it. He's real hit or miss with me, but last night I thought he delivered.
Deadmau5 is not my cup of tea these days, but there was no let down in energy from when Fisherspooner went off and he came on (unlike the complaint peeps had at etd.POP with trance acts being before him) and the crowd was going insane to him. So when I write my impression, I am trying to respect that aspect.
I like color lasers better, too, but those were four green 40 watt lasers. Nothing to joke about. That said, you can't have the same aspect of the production be the same year to year. There's been no lasers at all in the past, color lasers, green lasers, one laser, more lasers. You have to change things up. Be fresh.
Wrapping up, Fischerspooner did play some of their tracks (and he sung to them), but you are right about them not playing their big classics -- that said, would have they necessarily fit well with the night and all that? not sure. But I would have loved to hear them nonetheless. Other than that, I though their set was killer. I was just surprised how good it was.
