My friend saw the Canadian ski cross team a couple of days ago at a lesser-known local ski hill where they set up a private training course. Smart, the competition might be relaxing too much in Vancouver/Whistler where it could be hard to get in practice runs.
Sunny warm weather here on west coast for next 5 days, bad for outdoor Olympics stuff. Insanely mild winter, flowers sprouting, people are starting to mow lawns.
CONGRATS MARIANNE on her silver medal win in womens 500m speed skate!!!

It may be too early to tell but has the "Own The Podium" program been a success?
Right now it doesn't seem like it. We haven't done any better in the areas where we normally don't do well and I thought part of this program was to better are chances in these events. We have been terrible in cross country skiing, ski jumping, and biatholon. Without a substantial increase in medals from previous years I would say the program was just a great big waste of my tax dollars.
