As long as there have been DJ stores around here, there have been higher quality CD's available than what you would find at your local mall's chain store.

We sell (or used to sell) more than just trance CD's ya know... it's taken quite a while to sell thru the CD's we've had, trance, techno, and house. Most of what comes thru and sells now is just local DJ mix CD's...

OK, so you're in Miami? Then you're getting screwed because I've been to Miami and bought a THREE CD Trancemaster comp (V22) there a few years ago for $25.99!!! Maybe you need to shop around more or stop exaggerating how much they cost down there?

FYI, I bought that comp at Grooveman Music, 1543 Washington Ave, South Beach. Maybe you ought to take a trip over there, assuming it's not gone out of business.

/me inserts classic 'shut the fuck up' picture here

I am ABSOLUTELY 100% AGAINST the sharing of full rips, and I think this has already been established. I'll concede that some on TA have good intentions when it comes to acquiring full rips, there are a SIGNIFICANT number of people downloading full rips for the intention of using them with some of the DJ tools like Final Scratch and on DJ CD players like the CDJ-1000. These are the ones that you ought to be directing your flames towards, as they're the ones that are spoiling it for you.

The sharing of full rips DOES directly impact the sales of vinyl records and artist albums because of those who steal these songs. If someone has a rip on CD to use with their DJ CD player, they're NOT gonna go out and buy the vinyl. Same thing with an artist album, if they acquire the songs they like from the given album, they're NOT gonna buy the CD or multipack vinyl.

Dude ! listen, I find it very hard to believe that mp3's have affected that much SALES, if not , HELPED ! !. Those people that you have talked of playing BURNED CD"s, come on ! ! ! a tru DJ and respectful to the muzik , wont do that, unless is a starting DJ working part time hours on b-day parties for 10 year olds. Also, if someone cant afford to buy vynils, the person WONT BUY them, but with mp3's, he has the chance to start getting some money, and then start buying VYNILS ! .. but in no way its hurting SALES, since that person, even if there wasent mp3's, wouldnt bother to buy and spend that much money ! but, thanx to mp3's, (im refering to the scenario you are talking about here ), he was able to get some money, and buy vynils.

Ok, I dont want to offend you or anything, but I said I bought a GATECRASHER CD and EUPHORIA CD's ! I never said I had bought a Trancemaster CD. I also said that the price of those CD's, here in the local stores, are no less then 30, and the cheapest place that you could find them is through the net. I also said that if It werent for mp3's, I wouldnt even KNOW they were AS GOOD , nor I wouldnt have bought them, but what I heard had my satisfaction on how much I was going to spend . Which was 27 for Euphoria, and 30 for the GC,but the price was thanks to a special SALE.

Also, you first said that the Trancemaster was 19.99 and then you say 21.99, you are either bullshiting , or just, BULLSHITING me.

I went to Grooveman music just a week ago, Im 45 mins away from grooveman, how much would it cost me in GAS ? theres some 2 dollars at least ! so the price of the CD goes up to 27.99, plus my way back, theres another 2 dollars in gas , which is 29.99. Plus tax , which is 7% is about 32 dollars, If not 33. Common sense thinking man, but I do disagree that sales have gone down, since most of the people exposed to the many songs through mp3, will either go out and buy it, or buy CD's containing this songs, which Is what I do. I buy CD's by first listening to the quality of it. I do this though whenever I have the chance to. But if not, then I just listen to the Mp3. It doesnt affect in any way the sales, because, if I DONT HAVE THE MONEY I wouldnt BUY IT ANYWAYS ! so mp3 doesnt make no freaking Difference !

There are plenty of netradio broadcasts where you can hear the latest in trance music, and there are TONS of livesets floating around that contain 99% of the tunes that have been requested in this thread. I'm not gonna endorse it, but option 3 could be used in a pinch.

So listening to MP3's from someone else computer is different from listening to them on yours? I don't fully understand.

ah but you see thats not true always.i own the numark 222 fusion cdj setup and just got my stanton str-80 turntable for christmas.

i have:

Punk

The Theme

First Second

Ligaya

Joyenergizer

Silence

all on mp3

BUT,

now i have them on viynl as well

plus im getting Can U Dig It,Legoland, anything from Armin!,The Truth, some new Scot Project,Awakenings, and a lot of other things on viynl ASAP! even tho i have all of these things on mp3.so not everybody does that.in fact,i think i'm living proof on the benifits of mp3. if it wasn't for mp3 i would have never bought my cd tables
never would have thought of asking for a turntable for christmas ,and never would have discovered a form of music that HAS LITERALLY CHANGED MY LIFE.I MEAN LITERALLY.i cant even describe how trance has changed my life for the better and mp3 and this site have a huge part in that.and how many other people reading this are probably saying to theirselfs hey me too!so if it's effected me this way their has to be others out there that share my beliefs or have even done the same things i have done when it comes to this scene and the scene of mp3's.

cheers....

oh and if anybody has a full rip of Klf vs unknown- Eternal Fridge
let me know!heard only a sample of it but it sounded like it had massive potential!...

GIVE TRANCE A CHANCE....

If Maytag was smart he would have brought his opinion up in a way that people would actually respect it or at least not flame him for it but he's obviously not that bright

seriously, think about what you are saying. If a DJ wants a tune, they will buy the tune. The reason vinyl sales are down is because of the amount of shit thats being released by some labels. For instance I went to the Tidy weekender, and they are moaning about vinyl sales being down. Thats because they release shit records noone wants, noone even bothers to rip half the stuff they release, so MP3's have nothing to do with that. A lot of the MP3's that are shared are promo only, never to have a full release, so the people that aren't lucky enough to be on promo lists should miss out?? They shouldn't. For example, Andy Perring (Pulser) was in i:Vibes chat a while back, and everyone was telling him how good his mix of jose amnesia - the eternal was, and the only way most people would even know it EXISTS is by MP3, and I didn't see him telling everyone they were ripping him off, he said thank you
Also, where the fuck have you got the vinyl sales are decreasing shit from? places like chemical records, Hard to find records, Juno.co.uk, only DJ's etc... are making more money than ever!. Chemical Records has started it's own nights FFS with top class DJ's!. The only labels that are suffering, are as I've said, the ones that release shit records. I don't see ATCR, Nebula, Perfecto, Purple Eye, overdose, xtravaganza etc... struggling with there vinyl sales!, more vinyls are being sold than ever in the UK, so don't come in here and moan that noones in Madison, Wisconsin wants to buy the shit your store sells.
On a side note, I don't fully condone the sharing of MP3's, especially the ripping group side of things, and the people that mass rips stuff, especially albums (which is where the real piracy is), will get what's coming to them. But still, to come onto an internet forum that still has bitching threads about the RIAA shutting down audiogalaxy is just plain retarded. If I still had my gold stars for being "special" you'd have got one a few pages ago
now cock off
