Nah man, Mark Knopffler was an awesome guitarist and story-teller. Dire Straits are brilliant. True no where near Queen though.
To be honest, I rate Queen as one of the most over-rated bands of all-time. They were ok, but nothing special in my opinion.
Queen doesn't even touch my top albums of all time list, which would, however, include the likes of The Cure's Disintegration, Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, The Rolling Stones' Let It Bleed or Exile on Main Street, The Beatles' Revolver and Abbey Road, U2's Joshua Tree, and Dire Straits' Brothers in Arms. Or a host of others before anything by Queen.

And +1 to Mark Knopfler's story-telling.

Oh god, Dire Straits and The Cure are not even in the same league as Queen and Pink Floyd.
And I would still argue that Pink Floyd come out on top, though obviously it's personal preference.
Though Freddie was total class. What a voice.
I own more Cure albums than I do Pink Floyd, I own zero Queen or Dire Straits albums... they don't really have the same appeal.

Pink Floyd is far, far, farrrr overrated.
The Cure had like 1 good album. The rest were fucking horrid.
And that's the final word.

wrong.
Besides you can't rate a band as to whether they have had an "all time best" album. You rate a band over their whole career. When Queen release 20 excellent albums they are one of the best bands ever, and you can't say just because the Cure had one album which makes your list that they're better. Wheres the other 19 great albums to back it up?
