its a simple matter of physics mate, the foot to surface impact ratio for running is three to four times your body weight compared to about one times your body weight for walking/biking. Once u wear out the cushioning, say hello to pain. If u want to run, then run. Not everyone will develop problems earlier than usual, but many others will. Your risk of injury is greatly increased by running...especially as u age.
