Like RJ says, they're snouts and assholes - parts of the animal that basically weren't good enough to go into any other meat. On occasion I might eat a chicken hot dog, or a Kosher beef hot dog (not for religious reasons specifically but because they have to be made under more controlled conditions).

But if I absolutely must eat one (for example, at 6 AM after a party when nothing else is around) then I'll just put ketchup and/or mustard on. Save the sauerkraut for good deli sandwiches and bacon bits for caesar salads.

wtf?

Whats with everyone thinking hot-dogs are meat biproducts? Grow up. Thats what your parents told you, or what other people told you, so you think eating hot-dogs is not 'cool'. There are companies that make large amounts of hot-dogs, if they were meat biproducts they wouldn't be allowed to sell the product, they would be sued from here to japan.

When it says 'beef' hot-dog, or 'chicken' hot-dog, its a goddamn beef or chicken hot-dog, don't act like f*ckin genious.

It has to do with how they're made. The hot-dogs downtown are usually boiled first, then roasted under a fire when you order them. Its not BBQed under coal or anything.

They also use some ginormous sausage, its not a weiner you buy at NoFrills.

Ketchup and mustard do the trick for me. I put other stuff sometimes, but it's usually just the good old red 'n' yellow.

I am Happy to Report That Liam's Hot dog cravings were fulfilled today at noon. Went downtown today to hang out and beat the hotdog Craving lol

As for what is in hot dogs. For those that are so concerned about what is in Hotdogs or how they are made should also see what else their fave foods are made out of. It ain't pretty. Like Ketchup.

That's great logic. You think those frozen chicken fingers are pure chicken? HA! My parents still eat hot dogs and so did I before I knew better.

Read the ingredients on those hot dogs some time, will ya? All "beef" means is that it came from a cow, and half of what's in hot dogs is just filler. YES, even those all-beef hot dogs. They have potato starch and nitrates and shit in them.

Now there may be SOME good meat out there, but street meat ain't it. You guys wonder why street meat has such a "unique" taste? Take a wild guess!

And to E*Master, you may very well be right that a lot of food out there is just as bad. That's why I don't eat much frozen or prepared foods, because they're disgusting. When did people become so lazy that they can't even cook themselves a half-decent meal? That's the reason North America has such an unhealthy population, because in other countries this kind of stuff is almost taboo (although, I'm sad to admit, it seems to be on the rise these days).

Another thing is a lot of food here is way too genetically altered. In My country it has to say in the package that it was altered. Here you don't and I bet you if people knew which of the foods, no matter how "fresh obsessed" they are, are indeed altered.

As for people being lazy to cook. I cook 6, count 'em, 6 days a week in my house. Only ONE of those days would I eat out or have something not made at home. A lot of people are not taught to cook for themselves. Kraftdinner and otehr microwave crap does not count. I am not too lazy to cook either. I actually enjoy standing 3 hours preparing somthing cause I like to have pride in what I cook (comes from the family as my Grandfather was a master chef in Germany and pretty much taught me all I know ). Bu tI do Agree with Diginut and say many ppl are too lazy to cook. Even those that say they don't have the time. To make a decent stir fry with fresh veggies n meat only takes about 20-30 minuted including the rice (at least for me).'

anyhow waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off topic, so what else do u guys like on your hotdog?
