in the US minorities means black. In Canada it means French. The current Prime minister is French and important ministers are held by French.
BTW, you're just a little too proud of having letters after your name...
Outside of the major metropolitan centres, it's whitey-white. That struck me as strange the last time I went shopping at my in-laws who live up North. I was planning moving to the country when I 'get old' (over 30) but how can I expose my children to Canada's multicultural mosaic?

tell that to your president
What the president lacks in, the constitution more than compensates for, and I have confidence that the supreme court will make the right decisions. They're even challenging the pledge of allegiance to remove the part where it says "one nation, under God". So yes we strive for a secular government.

but whats your point? its like that all over Canada. Minorities don't live in rural areas... Canada is not a melting pot, everyone is encouraged to keep his/her cultur. How do you want to keep your cultur if you're the only indian/chinese/spanish/arabic/etc in a small village?

There are 121 members of the House of Representative who are women or minority. Out of a total of 435 members that constitutes a little over 27% of congress. So to correct your statistic, only 73% are white and males . When looking into the population according to the 2000 census, whites constitute 75.1% of the population so maybe congress isn't as underrepresented as most think. Actually the most underrepresented group in congress is oddly enough asian-americans.
I was also basing on the Senate. Are you sure that only 73% are white males?!?!
And the white population according to the 2000 census is 71.8% to be exact.
I was just going over this on my government class, I remember seen that the whites in the Seante are up in the 90's%. We went over religious means, womans, and so on. Im quite sure that the House and Seante are constructed of around 90% or more. If I could get my hands on that chart I'll come back.

hahah talking about tax returns I got 10.13$ from the Federal govt and 10.13$ from the Provincial govt. Minus the 20$ I paid to the accountant to do my paperwork, a net return of 26 cents!!!

Just illustrating the point to those unfamiliar with Canada. In my trips to America, I have been startled at the amount of poor rural minorities (which are really world majority people.)
