I disagree for the very same reason.
I find that mixing slower genre's (Funky, Prog) is SO much eaiser than trance.
Hard house is also easy coz your transitions tend to be quicker with less chance of messing up, but that doesnt mean longer transitions are more difficult.

I find trance the hardest coz you need to cue correctly so that you havent got too many layers going on at once which sound messy.
Prog and funk are more minimal so hardly ever sound cluttered (tho getting overlaying vox in funky is annoying)

But i think trance is actually difficult to mix, to many breaks,

Techno is very repetitive sometimes at the beganing so, it's easier

But Prog and House, Come onnnnnnn it's much much easier......

techno it's pretty much my life.

trance isnt necessarily harder to beat match, its harder to mix because of a strong sense of key from either a bass line or melody/harmony hence the track you are mixing into has to sound ok against this to sound like an ok mix. even if it was beatmatched and you mixed in a bass line its going to sound obvious and sometimes completely wrong. which is generally why trance is harder to mix with stuff compared to things like techno

on average i'm takin approx 40 secs.

with the cd tt's once youve hooked it up right its normally dead on. i tested this by finding two 10 min tracks, setting off one and instantly matching (out loud) the second in to it. After 15 seconds off tweaking it, i happily listend to two tracks stay in line for a good 4 minutes before i got bored listening to a mess of synths

25-60 seconds for me....sometimes up to 2 minutes, when i mix prog, and i wanna make some long ass transition....so i try to match it perfectly....

and the most easiest style for me to mix, is prog breaks... it has more sounds, and beats r not 4/4...so u can fuck up a lil bit, and noone will notice =) lol

usually bout 40 - 60 seconds for me. it can be more depending on the tune tho.

Usually between 5 and ten seconds. If I'm lucky I can get it matched more quickly.

Yeah, all those people who are into breaks look down on people who mix 4/4 as inferior. The funny thing is, I can mix their breaks just as well or better than they can, and when they try to mix my trance or my prog, their beats gallop like someone who's been mixing for about a week!

Since i got my 1210's I can usually cue the track so its matched instantly and then i nudge the record to get it perfect,so it usually takes 5-10 seconds
