Don't you guys wish we had a scene sort of like the one they have in Holland? One where 10,000+ person parties happened once a month?
Well to answer my own question, I would have to say yes. The only way that could ever even remotely happen is for some elements of electronica to go mainstream here in Toronto. It is obvious that if any elements of electronica were to ever go mainstream it would be the highly commercialized trance and to be honest I wouldn't mind it that much. Instead of people listening to freestyle they would listen to cheese trance, which is a step in the right direction for the scene period.
Remember there are some elements of electronica that would never go mainstream, therefore you guys wouldn't have to worry about the gino invasion.
In summary, I think it's good that z103 is playing some trance, it's definitely a healthy sign for the scene.

i'm still praying to see this day in my lifetime... first people laff at z103 for calling, perpetuous dreamer - sound of goodbye, "new shit" last summer, and now when z103 actually gets with the program and plays a song thats ACTUALLY new, they get ragged on again... seems like everything they do is wrong. i say props to z103... they're taking this city a step in the right direction... i hope they start playing darude's new tracks ("music", and "next to you")... they're actually pretty good...
we're not gonna get TRANCE ENERGY here til people accept the fact that if you're going to have a big enough fan base to get that kind of event, there are going to be people who aren't as hardcore as us... do you think everyone in holland is a tranceaddict? its not like i live in holland, but i'm willing to bet that a good percentage of the people at sensation and trance energy are just casual trance listeners...
we can't expect to ever have an entire city of TAs, but as long as trance gets radio exposure, it will increase our fan base, which is never a bad thing...

thing is tho. The trance and prog we love will never see its own Radio station becaue the CRTC requires a Canadian based Radio station to have 30 (or 40) percent Cannuck contend. So. Unless a bunch of new canadian Trance artist arise out of nowhere to fill that gap. Until then, we can't do nothing.
