Any one who volunteers to take a bullet for their country should be granted all the freedoms of being an adult. Maybe we can do something about this. About the only good thing about the Repubs being in control of both House and senate is that they might support the abolishment of the law that coerces states to adopt a 21 drinking age. Remember when the speed limit used to be 55? That's because they passed a similar law that coerced states to adopt that as the speed limit by witholding funding. They abolished that law, and now you can drive 60-70 or more in some places.
You can see how we did make a difference in the Rave Act legislation by getting support from such senators as Kennedy and Leihey. Of course with that sneaky maneuvering of Biden's, not many would have voted against the Amber Alert Bill; It passed because of that trickery.
I'm just saying man....when people make noise, politicians listen. That's what MAdd did, and that's what we can do. MADD is about prohibition these days anyways, and not just about fighting drunk driving. At the very least, maybe we can get someone to sponser a bill that lets people of any age in the military buy liquor etc. I think that would be great, because it makes me angry to see all those US soldiers die who are like 19 years old. I hope that we have no more wars in the near future, but maybe we can make some good come out of this. My dad used to be able to buy beer when he was 18 or 19 in Texas.
