I would say that saying one of our esteemed Trance DJs putting out tunes that fit into our strict guidelines of danceable Trance music is to ignore their amazing artist freedoms presented by the unlimited potential of Electronically created instruments.

Trance is mearely a gateway into a vastly unexplored region of almost limitless potential of acoustic possibility. If an artist wishes to test its limits, they will not always find themselves making generic dance tracks. Tiesto's In My Memory album is a fantastic example of this, as he explores the possibilities of bass with Dallas, the use of improvised soloing in In My Memory, and the incredible almost narrative structure of Magik Journey. From talking to him about this album, he wished for the entire album to be a "Magik Journey" into the potential of electronically generated sound melded into various motifs.

The idea that an Artist can be branded as a Trance artist, and being stripped of their creative freedoms is a terrible idea.
