well, that was basically my question...hypathetically speaking if you had the FX processor (first of all what is an FX processor and $$$, sorry, new to the game!) connected, then what are the capabilities of it?

ok, I'm going to upgrade to this or a DJM500, but preferably this PCV275 to save a lot of money as I only really need three channels and I don't need the fx.

Questions:

Would this mixer be suitable for smaller events? ie sound quality over a big system and also if I booked you for a gig would you be happy when you saw this mixer in the booth?

Am I to understand that you can't listen to the master output through your headphones on this mixer? You can cue any of three channels with the switch below the EQs but there seems to be no cue pan and I can't see whether you can listen to the master on your hp anywhere?

many thanks

you can listen to master level by pressing split cue, and in the right cup its master.
also dont waste money on djm.. get a pcv and the rest of the money get records

I have the PCV275... I mix on one ear.

Put the cue on only for the channel that u mix.

That way u'll be able to listen only to the track you are going to i
insert.

If u are used to split channel mixing - use the black button, though I don't like it either

This is a great mixer for big/small events. It has all the capabilities and functions you'll need in a studio mixer (doesn't have a fader curve to scratching... but it's still alright)

Hope you enjoy it

I thought I heard (and I could be wrong) that you couldn't hear the EQ changes in the track your are cueing up. Like the sone in the headphones has it's EQ's at full volume regardless of hom much the bass is cranked up or the mids are up, etc. If this is true this is a HUGE disadvantage.

this is NOT true of the PCV275.

It is however true of the PCV175 i believe, which is why i got the better 275.

There are a few things that are missing (cue/master pan would be really nice), but all in all it's a good mixer, especially for the price.

This is fuckin nice mixer... I would definitely go for this if I hadn't already convinced myself to spend the money on the Xone32 that I plan to buy. What can you expect to pay for the PCV275 by the way?

Dude, Xone32 is so much better than Vestax 275, much clearer and sharper sound output and don't forget the awesome, tempo controlled, sweeping filters....

Cheers...

I do that too, seems the simplest thing for me, never seen the need for the headphone mix feature... I suppose Vestax probably thought the same way when they made that mixer

Anyway, enjoy your new mixer, great piece of kit
