All the people who said that techs were the best are biased because they probably own them. At least give some reasons why one TT is better than another like BUsy child did. I think everyone can agree that belt driven suck.

When I saw those TTX1's i thought, I WANT this TT, but when I saw its price, I went looking for alternatives. And, the gemini PDT6000 popped up. I read reviews about it, that sayd it's (almost) as good as the TTX1 for a better price. When I read some reviews about the TTX1, I read some good things(about the motor, sound demption, ...) but I also read, that the arm could be better worked out. Now, I didn't feel them yet, so i'm not sure about that at all.

In Australia, Technics SL1200 mk2 is quite a lot cheaper than Numark TTX1, so for me I would obviously buy the technics.

The Numark deck is very nice, but it doesn't have the tried and true reliability and accuracy. In a couple of years, if the Numark TTX1 is still performing then we may have a new king of the TTs.

Tech mk3's are the shizzit, and the mk5G's are pure orgasm inducing to look at (cant wait to try them).
I was VERY dissapointed with the highest end Stantons (STR8100's I think they called), my mate has em, and they are crap. the platters as sensitive as my mate shitty Numark TT1650's

Still wanna try the TTX1's and PDX-2000's tho

yo I got 2 TTX1's off ebay for $680. I think that is about the same price as two tech 1200's aint it. Ill let you know how they are when they arrive. I have heard very good things about the new TTX1's.

I had the opportunity to spend a good year working with Stanton Str 100's, Technics, and Gemini PDT6000.

Of course, the technics were rock solid with dead accurate pitch control. The Geminis were decent, the pitch was OK, but overall, it felt really cheap. Also, when you set the needle on a track and turn off the platter, the platter spins back a little. Not really a big deal, but really annoying. I liked the Stantons the best because they were good and i liked the extra pitch % that it offers so that you never have to slow down record A for record B. Not only that, stantons are significantly cheaper

uh oh. i just checked the technics site and it says the cases r aluminium. When i got my 1210s about 5 years ago i immediatly had the cases replaced with translucent green plastic ones and threw the original ones away. looks like that was a bad move.

Whoa... that sounds funky... got any pictures of your setup? And where can I get my hands on some cases for my tables?
