OMG, it's so awful to capitalize on fame and popularity to make money hand over fist.

I'm sure you would all turn down the same opportunity to 'stay true to the scene'.

Thanks for the article, by the way. Interesting read, glad to hear that it went off with very little trouble (and no tragedies).

In the year 2003 it’s obvious the traditional musicians have extra competition: the DJ is the new popstar of the 21st century.

i was going to say the same thing as the guy above me
his "dance" song made the liveset worse.

i don't really care if trance becomes popular as long as its quality music thats playing, like what tiesto played that day.
in fact, that's a good thing

but I bet if it spreads here to america it will be cheese 24/7

ewwwwwwwwww

I've got 3 things to say:

1) Props to Mr. Verwest: it's a great step for the history of electronic music, you like it or not. It shows he's not just a DJ and a producer, but a true artist, along with respected people like Jean Michel-Jarre.

2) Thanks to Djeebie

3) ROFLE-MA-FUCKING-MAO @ Ste's sig

For the people who are complaining about Dinand Woesthoff singing Rain Down On Me live: if you weren't there you really can't judge.

It may sound horrible to you in the mp3, but the way Dinand performed really gave me goosebumps. He hyped the whole stadium, most of the people were singing along and it was one of the highlights that night

That's true. I don't even like male vocals at all but I have to recognize that he pumped up the place. It wasn't a highlight for me because I know nothing about Kane, but looking around you could tell that a lot of people loved it.

We have way too many mp3 snubs here, and the funny thing is that many of them have never even been to a club, let alone a huge event like this one. Reading the long thread I saw that a lot of people were complaining during the liveshow bands that represented the different continents. Let me tell you that it was amazing seeing capoeira dancers and Brazilian drummers really having it, and Tiesto mixing the live music into Carnival. That was really innovative and artistic, shame on you if you're so narrow minded that can't tolerate other types of music, especially if they're wisely juxtaposed into electronic dance music. That was a highlight for me

How can you say that. Never heard of Dinand before and I think I know why.....what was going on there?

Some bloke shouting random shit down a mic....I thought he was having a seizure on stage or something. Jesus, bad move Tiesto

Jan was good and Andaint too. Dave Matthews band......nice idea but went on a bit...
