Dunno about that, but MAJOR labels from all over the world get stuff pressed at Acme. You'll be very pleased with their prices, and remember, it's in Canadian funds. Unfortunately, the US $ isn't at it's strongest point right now, but it's still a good price.

I remember being in Miami w/ Chad and Nat, and Chad showing price points to people like Shane 54, Joy Kitikonti among other and they just say, are those Canadian Dollars -> Yes -> Holy crap thats a good price.

Many interested Americans then. I cant imagine that the extra 0.08 to the dollar makes that much difference in the grand scheme of things. I think prices were still better than most american presses.

PS Nat, Get lauren in touch w/ me. I think she and I need to get our Jungle on when I move there(3.5 months)

you're looking at about $60 to press an acetate. acetate won't last long like vinyl does though... you're probably looking at about 50 plays before is starts to sound like shit.

as for Vinyl not too many places will press fewer that 500 records... in fact many have a 1000 minimum. that will fun you about 3-4 per record.... maybe a bit less depending on where you go and what kind of relationship you develope with them.

I have in my hand acmes price list, and you are WAY off. WAY!
you can get the prices yourself, but LIST for runs UNDER 500 is well....

lets just say I cant believe that I pay $16-20 a record. CANNOT BELIEVE IT!
where does the money all go??????
ps for a run of 45(records) you could pay less that $2 CDN for each. + tax + shipping(why not drive to markham to get em?)
its fuckin cheap yo

Sure the price per vinyl for a run of 500 is really small, but you still have to pay them to setup the run which is a few hundred bucks. Add on to that the cost of mastering, labels, shipping and covers and the money that the record label takes and you can easily find the price that record stores pay.

$15 is reasonable considering all parties involved need to make a profit.

Correct- u still need to make those master plates (see Scratch Free Press), which cost a bit. But I'm sure it's still cheaper than doing it in the US.

This is also a great vinyl manufacturing plant in toronto:

MMS Direct

I am pretty sure they have better prices than ACME.
