lol
first time I actually heard someone say "too much power!!! I can't control it!!!"
It's not coming out in a while, so it's not like im planning to buy them right now without checking them out. I don't understand why they would make a TT with so much power that it becomes too hard to control however. It doesn't make sense.
BTW, you got a TTX1? How is it?

I think that the TTX1 pushes this limit. It is not very easy to speed the TTX1 up in very small portions. With even more torque, you'll have to work out just so that you can beatmatch!

You don't need a lawnmower engine to spin your records!

and you dont need to touch the nipple to beatmatch either.

I don't know about you, but when I want to cue up my records I do it by touching the vinyl. Since it's on a slipmat, the power will have no negative impact, you can spin it back or forward fine. The turntable power will just prevent the platter from slowing down when you put pressure on the record. This is a good thing, because you can release records without giving them alittle nudge to compensate for the platter speed.

oooooohhhh baby!!!!! niiiice! the big guns are comin' out!!!

50% pitch????? whaaatt???????? damn! hahah what the hell would you want that for unless you wanted to mess with some cool sounds? (like maybe play gabber at 140, haha)
nice though.

for the guy who said, oh no i just bought the 80s! don't worry about it. i have the str8-80s, they're great tts. well they're not the 150s but they have almost as many features and also have blue lights, and i thiiink the faceplate is replaceable. or maybe i'm just thinking of my stanton mixer for that.

anyway it's gonna be a while before i get new dex, i'm happy with the 80s.

but if i were rich...oooh!

heh... well it would seem that stanton wasn't entirely original in their 4.5 kg starting torque.
It looks like they may have even copied it from other tables, then again they could have been copied too.
Anyways there appears to be 2 nearly identical tables to the 150s coming out at the same time.
The American Audio HTD 4.5 and the Citronic PD-45 Ultima.
Links: http://www.adjaudio.com/product.asp...&cat=Turntables
and
http://www.citronic.com/pd45.html

whats the deal? The TT market is getting too saturated!!!
Although I've never heard anything particularly great from either of these companies, but you never know.

yea i forgot to add.
It looks like the specs for the torque on the TTs aren't final. On 2 more sites that are selling the tables, they don't specify the amount of torque in their specs, perhaps suggesting that after the release they could possibly be different. One of the sites was htfr and the other one... i forget. I just ran a search on google.

is that 4.5 kg/cm startup torque or sustained torque?

if its startup, big shit...who cares if your tables can start up with a lot of torque haha its useless...how many times do you need your tables to start with the force of a mac truck?

if its sustained torque, well even that is pretty useless

i don't get the idea that more torque is better
once you get to a certain point it just becomes redundant

the only amount of torque you need is enough sot hat when you cue the records you don't effect the platters speed...and im pretty sure that 3.3 kg/cm is still MORE than enough torque

when will people realize that torque doesn't mean shit, what you should be really concerned with is the wow & flutter...i.e. how well the pitch is sustained

the reason why techs are at the top of the field is because they have the best sustained pitch

one thing i like about these tables though are the option for phono or line out...i think that's great so you can choose between analog which will give you a more accurate pitch of the two, or digital which will allow you to have the key correction

aside from the phono/line out option, i don't really see anything special about these tables...but again that is just MY opinion

as posted in another thread, is so much power even needed??? How often do you stop your decks from spinning?? What you should be more worried about is consistency...
