this is how i record my mix'es... i use total recorder.. all u gotta do is set total recorder to record pcm stream thro ur inline input in ur soundcard.. and u can set all the settings to it like 192/44.1hz etc.. i find it very easy all u gotta do is hit record when u start then normalize it after u done ur mix. basically its pretty much recordin to a tape ...kinda how i think all demo's should be recorded. ( u need a record out tho on ur mixer if its got one)

This is prob a stupid question but I only have 1 socket on my PC. It's exactly the same as an AV input on the mixer, amp etc so I;m guessing thats where i plug it in.

But there's only 1 inpt = are there special types of cords which have a red and white on one end and a yellow on the other kind of like a Y ?

Is my pc just a piece of crap?

Try this

Soundforge is great, but if you want something real simple and cheap, ,try www.polderbits.com ihave been using this for a while now. SIMPLE. Use soundforge for editing for demos and what not. But just to hear what you have mixed and cut the tracks up and do some small editing use polderbits.
