a few small corrections:

it's NOT for scratching at all. the crossfader is very gradual, not sharp like a scratch mixer. and it's not adjustable either, gradual is all you get. the faders are similarly gradual, it's perfect for mixing trance, prog, or house.

DJM500 has FX. it just doesn't have the sampler.

People are more and more preferring Numark, Behringer, and Stanton over Vestax mixers, cause the are POS. There are numerous requests for cross faders and there is nothing that can be done, 'cause they are simply not available. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A REQUEST NOR ORDER FOR ANY PIONEER CROSSFADERS.

people are buying numark, stanton, and behringer over vestax cuz they are cheaper. I have personally played on numark, and stanton mixers that were falling apart after less than a year. meanwhile, my vestax has not a crackle or bleed in more than a year of heavy playing. as for behringer, they just recently came out, undercut everyone in the cheap mixer market. they seem alright, but we will see if they stand the test of time.

as for pioneer, there crossfaders go ALL THE TIME! i almost bought a DJM300, but the crossfader was fuct. my friends DJM500s crossfader was fuct. MANY MANY people on this forum have complained about the faders on their DJM 500 and 600s getting messed up, not to mention other things like overheating, needing service etc. maybe you should do a search?

Vestax PCV 275 is a GOOD mixer, much better than the cheaper 175, or PMC170A, it is built with quality parts, and you can't go wrong with it. Granted, a Rane or A&H is better, but for triple the price.

but the 275 whoops ass on equivalent Stanton RM3S, or Numark 2002x type mixers. I'm not sure about the newer more expensive stantons and numark though..

When are people going to realize that Pioneer mixers are an ancient technology, they are from last century, literally, hehehe , and talk about sampler and effects, Pioneer still uses only 16bit digital when even the entry level mixers like Numark are using 24bit digital technology. If you want newest technology, great sound output, clearity, multiple features, etc. Get either Rane Empath, Rane MP44, Allen and Heath Xone 32 or 62(but only if you have a big sound system) or Tascam X-9,which I personally have and it made quite a few friends and others Pioneer owners quickly put their mixers up on Ebay.

This is what I can do for you for mixers:

Vestax -- Sorry POS, my store doesn't even carry them anymore

Rane Empath -- USD $840.00
Allen & Heath Xone 32 -- USD $640.00
Allen & Heath Xone 62 -- USD $1050.00
Tascam X-9 -- USD $900.00

PM if you are interested. Cheers.

Thank you for you opinion, what may seem bad or should i say "shit" to some people may not be for many others, if vestax was shit they wouldnt be in the buisness they currently are. I dont think i will use the effects that much as for the DJM 600, i just want to learn because this is the first time.

Tascam X-9 has all the goods, but its a little too steep for my budget right now for just a learning curve.

Thank you for your offer, but its too much to pay for,i think i will stick with vestax.

while these mixers are good, you need to ask yourself, do you NEED 4 channels, and FX? if you do, then it's worth the extra dosh.

with a vestax PCV 275, you only get 3 channels, but you can still add TTs later easily, and have a spare channel. it has 6 line inputs, and 3 phono, (but only 3 of those nine can play at once).

ask yourself, would you ever really have more than 3 sources in the mix at once?

and as for FX, the vestax has an FX loop, so you can always buy one of these:

that way you are much more flexible. if it breaks, you can still mix.

And, i hear the DJM500 and 600 tend to break down a lot. and the X9 is a purely digital mixer, and earlier versions had delay on the Eqs and stuff (although that might be fixed now).

thx for the advice i will stick with the vestax, i am short on cash after i bought the Pionner CDJ 800 Cd players.

djm 600: over all good mixer i got one for myself =), but u dont really need all those effects...i dun seem to use it much at all =(
but it does have que pan,bpm counter and nice sliding faders which is nice for doing cuts and they aint got the flimsy feeling to them

tascam x9: probably a great mixer spec wise etc...has alot of extra channels i think 6 but u might not use them all...but the sliders are real sensitive... bpm counter i think aslo

if ur strap for cash maybe a djm500 would do u just wont have the effects and the que pan but its a still good mixer!

if i was u i got find some stores and test them out like the feel of the mixer, how much cut u want in ur trebs mids lows, how many channels etc.. and see what what best suits you.

if u want to get a cheap djm600 around $900 U.S. about 1400 canadian, u can also ask if he can find away to relieve u of duties and such if ur in canada =)
check out ebay
[email protected]
he got some real good deals on pioneer stuff full warranty also...thats where i got mine

just my opinion hope that helps maxtuh

Thanks, what is the que pan? sorry i am un-educated about new things , please educate me

John see my sig and you'll know where I hang out(I mean do this thing called work or something, lol!). Vestax 275 IS NOT made of quality parts, and Vestax as a company AREN'T dong well at all. I'll take a Numark Matrix 3 over Vestax 275 anyday, wait I did and not only saved $140.00 but I still have it for emergency back up. About a month ago I posted last vestax 275 we had in stock at a dealer price, just to get rid of it, and we no longer carry them. Behringer has been out for quite some time now and have proven themselves to be an excellent entry to mid level mixers. Watch what happens when DJX700 is released in July, Pioneer will have a shitfit. I already have several dozen preorders from friends(we don't do preorders normally).

2 r12

Vestax 275 is a techno/trance mixer not a scratch mixer. 99% of scratch mixers are 2channel and have very few features, most of them just 3band eq and maybe a filter and a few other features, here are some examples: Rane Tm56i TM54i, Tm52, Tascam XS8, XS4, XS3, Allen & Heath Xone 02, Pioneer DJM300(S),Vestax 03,05,07, Stanton SA12, SA8, SK2F LTD, Numark PPD01, DMX line and such.
Tascam X-9 is NOT 6 channel, it is a 4 channel mixer, the fader and channel volume sliders are smooooooooother than soft butter, you're correct on that, and it is a great mixer and much better than Pioneer.
AND as an FYI per Pioneer, PIONEER DJ EQUIPMENT BOUGHT ON EBAY ARE N O T! covered by manufacturers warranty.

r12 you are correct, you have seen us on ebay but NOT for Pioneer products, each manufacturer has their own policy. This is the policy of Pioneer(as taken directly from their forum)

quote:

FYI:

Please remember that NO eBay seller is an authorized dealer, even if they say they are. It is against our dealers contract for them to sell on eBay.

Be aware that should you purchase from an eBay vendor, your product will NOT be covered by Pioneer's warranties, which also applies to all unauthorized dealers.

well, like i say, i have not tried the matrix 3, but i have heard good things about it. i have tried other numark mixers though, and they were shit compared to my 275. as for you not carrying the 275, well that's your choice i suppose. They are a popular mixer, if we took a survey of TA's i think that vestax PCV 275 would be near the top if not THE top in popularity.

*edit, i made a poll, it's located here --> MIXER POLL

neither of those proves nor disproves it's quality, but my own personal experience has led be to believe this is a great mixer.

as for the DJX700 may well panic pioneer, as it's a direct ripoff of the DJM600, but much cheaper. I'm surprised pioneer is not sueing them for this actually. behringer only entered the DJ mixer market within the last 2 years, they have not proven themselves reliable in this area yet as far as i am concerned (although they do make good budget studio equipment)
