Hehe nah we hardly have any parties/producers/DJ's over here!
Trance is so overrrr

40.000+ events...
Innercity
Sensation (2x)
Mysteryland
Tiesto In Concert
Dance Valley
Trance Energy (2x)

some producers/DJ's...
Gielen&Svenson
Verkuylen
Kleinenberg
Bervoets&de Goeij
Fijneman
Verwest
Corsten
Van Buuren

Not bad for such a small country I think.
And yeah the music/record stores in Amsterdam suck!
They see trance as some cheap form of EM.
But that's just Amsterdam, they always think they are above everything.
Guess you can buy way more trance and imports in the UK.
More people live in England though and they only have like GSSS,Gatecrasher@NEC,Homelands and Godskitchen GG.
It's hard to say who's "Trance Nation", the UK,Germany or the Netherlands!?
But the "Trance Continent Contest" is easily won!

Be Cool!

heh atleast its not like here in california..its all rap and hip-hop and mainstream stuff..and if anyone likes electronica they usually just call it techno when they really mean trance (its quit disturbing) and no one here has even heard of hardstyle wich i think is very kick ass for the most part trance is still alive..atleast in america

btw just the other day i was in best buy and they had a section for electronic music...had the ferry costa cd and some essential mixes as well! and much more wich is very nice..atleast for me since i saw no one else in the section buyin stuff! bwahhaha..all mine!!

The electronic music section of a typical US music store sort of reminds me of a porn shop. There's a large selection, but not advertised at all, and you almost never see anyone there, but there clearly must be a market for it.

Okay, maybe not the best analogy.

Don't say that! That's not even funny as a joke, man. I seriously got shivers down my spine when i read that.

Yeah i remember going into the tower records on the pike near me a few months ago for the first time in a couple years, and i was amazed at the change in the electronic music section. When i went in there a few years ago, it was quite a small section, and not marked at all. Now, the section is almost as big as other music sections, and it is quite clearly marked. Tres hip!

You guys shouldnt come to holland, the scene stinks here. The Trance scenehas been destroyed by hardstyle. Soon gabber is gna take over again and trance will go back to the underground. Our Djs like ferry, tiesto and armin will go abroad and we will never hearvthme anymoire

I've been warned the Uk people for the same thing, they wont listen. You will see when you scene gets flooded with tons of useless hardstylke albums and parties. Its fun for about a year, but it tired really quickly

nope trance isnt as popular in Holland as Holland TAs would make you think. NL has all the big parties, but that just equates the style more with pop music there than anything else. I used to be surprised when Dutch people didnt know who Ferry, or Tiesto were. Now i feel good to know they have no idea who Sander K is - cause i know hes not pop over there|

We only are a 'trancenation' because of our parties and big dj's.. and only because foreigners think and say so..

but 80% of dutchmen doný even know what 'Sensation' or 'Innercity' is..

There is always a lot of discussion around here.. Noobs think Houseparty's are only about drugs and that everyone does it..
Every little thing which happens on a party goes HUGE in the papers..

Also a lot of people say Trance is commercial and crap, but they only hear the crap in the pop-charts..
and when i went to Tiesto in Concert, friends asked me the next day if he spinned lethal industry and 643.. (the only music they know of him..) and if i heart the 'magnificent' song Weekend by Scooter..

I don't even try to explain anymore, I don't care!

honestly I must say I'm really surprised after reading this.
always saw on Holland as the true trance nation. not only cuz they have lots of known dj's and big trance events..
but also cuz almost all the peeps down there love electronical music.
but i guess that was a pic I've made me in my head.

so after reading about your search after trance records in the shops down there, I have to admin that I'm a bit disappointed..

possible that it's easier finding such shops outside of the capital, but anyway.

even though , no one can beat them on the Big Events!, cuz they just keeps coming and I guess that’s a sign which sows how popular trance is down there..

I have to agree with PCP2017 that is not bad for a country twice the size of new jersey! and I've never heard of a trance event of 40,000 pleople in the US, but I could be wrong.
