My friend has a game called "Ghost in the Shell" and it involves a real futuristic industrial vibe. THe music is alot like techno and it fits well. I'm not a gamer but sometimes I hear decent tunes on my friends PS2 games and in some computer games etc..

I think making music for video games (decent music) that fits etc...would be hard.

Good luck to anyone in this endeavour.

Nope, I own the FF7 OST, and the music is exactly as it sounded in the game.

They did release a FF7 soundtrack that included orchestrated songs, but they only did a few like that. dont get me wrong though, there is alot of orchestral music in the game, and its amazing, but there is also some more 'electronic' tracks (even though they are not really trance).

Anyway, ignoring all the useless banter...

I think it'd be fun to give this a shot. Quotam, are you reading this thread? I guess I'll drop a line by e-mail tomorrow if I don't hear anything on the forum. Just want to know some details.

now I went and got out my ff7 ost.. lol.

There is alot of electronic music on it.. heavy synth use, and even some trancey stuff.

For example these tracks:

J-E-N-O-V-A
Still more fighting
Underneath the Pizza
Oppressed People
Crazy Motorcycle
Electric de Chocobo
Cinco de Chocobo

and alot more..

ah listening to this makes me want to play the game again!

alright if you actually own the soundtrack then whatever....but i think maybe you're missing my point
i wasn't focusing on just ffvii but the ff series as a whole
i think its safe to say the MAJORITY of the songs are orchestral....then there are things like chocobo remixes that dont really count

yeah the song from the ghost in a shell intro movie for psx is tight
thanks for reminding me about it, i lost the song when i reformatted
*me goes to find song*
