Yeah Yeah Yeah, I know that the site is ugly, and every track is described as, very good download it!!!!!!
but if you put on some sunnglasses, and have a look around you can find some good trax, you just have to be selective and if you keep to well known artists you narrow down the shit. Ive downloaded some good traxs lile (Westbam vs red jerry-wizards of the sonic, ferry corsten's mix of moby why does my heart feel so bad) if you download every track that is highly recommended you will end up with a whole lot of shit.
All i'm sayn is that the 80% of quality trax ive downloaded has sure made up for the 20% of shit trax I got.
So in my opinoin its at least worth a good look around, if you haven't, take a good look around, there are good trax to get if you can tollerate the site.
however the last time i was on this site the downloads were slow.
I suppose it is a good way to keep the numbers down, scare everyone one away with a f***n ugly site design, hehehe
Also is their a way to dissable Gozilla, coz i know that you shouldn't use Gozilla 2 dnlaod off that site...just wondering if that is why it crashes when u enter the music section??????
PEACE

Okay, it seems that there are four major criticisms of the homeofmusic website:
- Bad colour scheme
- Always crashes
- No search facility
- Poor reviews
There's not much I can do about the first one (yes it is a bit ugly ) but I can help you with the other ones.
If you're finding the site always crashes, try using IE 5.0+ (if you're using anything other than that) and when you open the new window to access the music download sections, keep both windows open. The site has never crashed on me since I got both of these things in order.
Secondly, there is a search feature on HoM. Just go into the forums, look at the new club music pages, and click on the "search" option.
And finally, on the poor reviews, if you don't want to take Rrebels word for it, there is an option to view the reviews that others have written (just like on this site). This should give you a greater idea of what the track is really like.
So, for those of you who haven't checked this site out yet, please do, you won't regret it. The man uploads 4 tracks a day (though he has reduced it to one a day until he finishes revamping the site) and the forum community is by far the best I have ever participated in. I've been a member of the forums there for nearly 18 months now (since about Jan 2000 - been going to the music pages since about September 1999) and have learnt the vast majority of what I know about music from other people on the forums there. And it's not just the knowledge that people are willing to impart either - the people are so unbelievably selfless. They are willing to give you any music you want unconditionally - that is they will help you out with any requests that they can without even thinking of asking for anything in return. Go into the forum and check out the MEC and Shared Files sections and you'll see what I mean.
It is an unbelievable community, and as I'm sure that Paul will tell you, well and truly worth a visit. The only community that even comes close to it is the Promos 4 DJ's BBS (http://promodjs.cjb.net) except that place has more leechers than decent contributers unfortunately.
Well anyway, I'm not going to preach to you, I'm just trying to give you the other side of the argument.
NB: The site is down temporarily while Rrebel fixes a few technical glitches, but it should be back up in the next few days.

Look, I'm not trying to proselytise you all, I'm just trying to defend the site against the barage of misguided abuse that it's been getting. Sure, if you don't like the site I'm not going to try and win you over, but it just annoys me to see people criticise the site when they don't even really understand it. And especially when the criticisms are directed at faults that don't even exist, which is why I included the solutions, not to try and make people visit the site, but to try and demonstrate to you that some of your qualms were unjustified. Henkie I respect your opinion, and if you don't want to visit the site then I'm not going to hold a gun to your head, but if your opinion is based on misguided assumptions then that is where I feel justified in taking the issue up.
And Alienfactory, no I'm not the webmaster of that site, but yes, I do know him from the occasional conversation over icq, and this has served to allow me to understand exactly what the guy puts himself through to keep that site going. Which is why, even if you don't like the site, you still at least owe him more respect than you're giving him (especially here).
Anyway, that's all I'm going to say about it. I can only hope that I've gotten through to some of you.
