oh btw, i bought those tables used 2 or 3 yrs ago.. and they still live and kicking like the day i bought them, i'm not a technics mechanic or anything, but i say that if financial backing is not ur strong suit, maybe consider getting used gear, u can always check it out first so if it looks bunk or plays bunk then don't buy it. but i kno some ppl are anal about getting their shit brand new.. so watevers.

Dude, I feel your pain... Im just starting out with DJing (im 19 soon to be 20) lucky I dont pay rent or anything. I pay for my equipment (I SWEAR ON THIS) with financial aid money I get from school. LOLOLOL. Guess what though, all that $1400 is gone. I spent $300 on a used SL-1210 MKII (from eBay), another $300 on a Numark PPD01 mixer (which I still dont have - ordered it 3 weeks ago), unfortunately $500 went to summer school tuition (DAM THIEVES!), and the other stuff on vinyls. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ME!!! And guess what, I still need another turntable ($300), SKB cases ($300), whitelabel styli ($175), and more vinyl ($.. who knows)

Im already at the verge of debt... always digging a bigger hole.
BTW that money was spent in a matter of 2 weeks. You think females are bad, I can make a 3rd world country bankrupt in 5 minutes.

pappa betalar!

no but seriously. i got my first cdj-100s after last christmas, got some money as a xmas present and had saved some, then i bought it! i'm still missing a mixer and another cdj-100s! i hope to get those when i graduate from upper secondary school (lukio) next fall. then if i don't have enough money for those, i'm going to buy it with my own money, because i'm going to get a job for about 9 months after graduating anyway. so maybe then i'll have enough money to get the gear!

as for the money that goes to CDs (i don't buy vinyl, but loads of CDs) i just don't spend money on anything else nowadays that much! i quit smoking, reduced drinking VERY much, i don't buy candy etc. etc. my mom gives me some money and i use most of it on CDs, i'm quite lucky that way, because if she wouldn't give me any money i wouldn't have anything probably!

oh and last summer, almost all the money i got from my summer job went to CDs and neccessary stuff like that!

I steal cars for a living. I specialise in Mercs and Beemers.

Seriously, I used to live of my residency before. Now that I aimed everything at my studies (and so gave up on a residency), I tend to spend whatever money I get in my hands.

Well I just started my summer job today and I counted that if I work for the whole summer I just might afford some decks and still have _some_ money (not much, but still) for living...

But then I encountered another problem - space.
This room is just so full of stuff that it's bursting now, where hell am I supposed to put the decks?

i have the same problem, fortunately(???) i have only one cd player atm!

even if you had space on a normal table, it would probably be too low and you back would end up hurting like hell when you are spinning, because you'd have to crouch pretty much unless you're very short! so you're going to need a higher table too!

He's right, ask DJ Dawn to send you a pic of the corner of the room, where the setup is. Talk about space saver.

I know, I know, I've seen it - but I don't even have that amount of space he used!
