IMO vinyl will never dissapear, i dont think that even devices as final scratch will replace it, i think a dj should use cds vinyls mp3s, whatever he likes, but vinyl will be betewen the first choices of every beginer
its like when tv was invented, ppl said nobody would listen to the radio anymore, but... |
thats so true. its like u turn on the tv and u see ja rule, so u dont know nething about trance nemore. also if u tell someone that ur a dj than that person will think u play only records. they wont know dj's play cd's or mp3, it happens to me all the time. they all think i use vinyl whe i use only cd's. but its up to the dj, there isnt ne difference, except for the music.

I use CD's but will eventually save enough for Vinyl. I use the crappiest of the crap. A basic stanton s-250 CD setup with a basic mixer (it doesn't even allow me to have a cue pan, just a switch that are for ch1,ch2 and cue)
Personally there are goods and bads about both, well for financial reasons, CD's are more affordable since most of the songs are online(you didn't hear this from me). I mean you pretty much can't buy the CD with the single traxx that you need, mainly their ripped from vinyl. As for flexability, Vinyl can be very felxible for Dj'n, but the downside is the difficulty of looking for vinyl and buying it.
