in vancouver, there are what we call zones, there are 3 of them. to bus within 1 zone costs $63, 2 zones: $84 i think and 3 zones: $120ish a month. as an SFU student, you pay something like $40 per month so $120 for semester mandatory fee and you can bus to any zone with your student card. i've been to a few parts of the world, and montreal transit system is the best and cheapest i've ever seen.

Yep, off-campus UBC student rate is $20/month mandatory.

I don't bus anymore, but in Cap college, I bought a small $2 sticker provided by TransLink and put it on my student ID. With this sticker, my student ID, and my 1-Zone bus pass, I could go anywhere. All I did was I had to buy the $2 sticker every year because it just expired annually. $2 was not so bad to travell around this city.
