has anyone ever considered that alot of the population doesnt give two farts about music? it is nowhere in their central interest... for many other people its books, movies, sport, philosophy, art, getting pissed etc. so all they care about when they have the radio going is a little bit of interesting convo and a beat to keep their mind interested while cooking or driving to work or whatever mundane tasks our lives are riddled with. And that these pop songs and what not is what does it for them they are simple, easy listening (i.e. no distortion guitar, hard bass, extremely fast rhythem, screaming etc), with vocals they can attempt to sing too.
me thinks your looking at the wrong end of the tables the radio channels are doing their job fine making the masses happy entertaining them. if you want the music to change you gotta educate the masses into loving music... but then that could be said for many different interests and not everyone can be educated in everything. the masses will continue to consume the easily available while the people with the desire to, will dig deeper to find what they want! | Exactly... It's not really a bad thing though, let them enjoy their ... whatever they do and ill keep tuning out ! :-)
