There are good reasons why i should get it...and also why i shouldn't. Guess best thing to do is drop by the good old studio and try them...The cdj800 costs around 380 pounds here though.. well.. lets see if their performance can convince me...As my mixer only has 3 channels i'm gonna get only one of these..it'll also ensure me of not to drift away from vinyls.

I dont think you understood what i meant or i just did not clarify enough....
Let me further explain or clarify:
1. TTs are quartz.. very accurate pitch, but because of physics.. records are not perfectly round and the platter has a slight wobble, etc... This can cause some inconstancies in the pitch, even though the tt is quartz driven. Where as cds.. even on a cdj... if you use original cds (cds not burned from vinyl), they will be consistent, because that is how they are produced, unless the producer intends to change the pitch throughout the track. Cdjs do work in increments of .1, however, it doesn’t fluctuate because it processes the information on a cd (its digital and its reads in 0 and 1s)... so in cds, there is less room for error because of the method of reading the information, therefore, being less likely to fluctuate in pitch speed.
As far as the cdj being .1 sensitive, its not a problem as long as you keep adjusting the pitch back and forth to keep the beatch matching tight as possible.

2. If i play a three hour set.... I can play 1hr and 30 min through vinyl, then run a transition between vinyl to cd, and then play strictly cds for another 30-45 min, run another transition to vinyl and finish off. Thats just an example.

Again, that is just my preference, and that is how i do things.... i just wanted to clarify the reason I prefer to have 2 cdjs in instead of 1cdj in my dj setup, along with my 2 technics 1200s. Obviously, ppl may have different preferences....
Thats why I stated " Now if you want 1 or two cd decks... its up to you", because everyone has their own preference.

Also remember that cds and vinyl has different sounds and tones, they are different sources. Vinyl has more accented highs and more mid bass and mid range, along with extended bass, while cds have a tighter bass, less midrange and midbass. I usually can tell very easily when I go to clubs and hear other djs switching back and forth from sources. That is another reason why i like mixing different sources in 'sessions', but the mix is always continuous.

I just recently sold my cdjs. As i rarely used them. Only really play off cdr when the track hasn't come in yet, or when its one of mine or another local producer's.

RE cdrs: PLus, unless the the track was recorded and encoded at an outstanding rate (more than 320kb/s i think), on a big system you lose so much bottom end.

If I got two CD decks, would I have to get a new mixer? My current one is only two channels. Or, could I hook up the CD decks into the two jacks that aren't being used?

For example, TT 1 is hooked up to Phono 2 Line 1, and TT 2 is hooked up to Phono 4 Line 2, could I hook the two CD decks up into the remaining outputs? Then I could just switch the channels over to Phono 1 and Phono 2 when I wanted to mix. But that way, I could only mix from Phono 4 Line 2 to Phono 1, or from Phono 2 Line 1 to Phono 1? Sorry to confuse anyone.

Um, yes. haha. You can do that. It's not that big of a deal which turntable you have to mix to....you just put the record on that one

the cd players are awesume. I use them for sampling, EFX, and playing the music I dont have that i love to play.. investing your money into CD tables is a greta idea get them

The citronic 10:4 mixer is a great budget 4 channel mixer...the copy cat of pioneer djm 600 is also a budget 4 channel mixer although i don't know how long will it last. Anyway, i'm gonna probably start with 1 first...the cdj100 costs 240 pounds and the cdj 800 costs 390 pounds here...i'll have to try them both out first though...lots of comments from my friends about the sound's difference from the cd and vinyl but i guess it's not that big a deal anyway..
