well I suddenly noticed cracks on both sides of the hinges now .. or whatever you`d like to call them. Mine are over 1 year so basically I`m fucked .. and I paid like 2000 nok for them, which equals to about 250 usd aprox, and they fucking break now .. after a little bit over a year. Crap is all I have to say. Shitty sound too .. lots of bass yeah, but my grado sr80 would rip them apart in listening .. and yeah I know they are meant to dj only but still way too expensive for shitty quality and shitty sound.
Im a studen too .. can`t afford anything like that again ...

My V-700's cracked last week. They are a year and a half out and Sony wants $90.00 to fix it I can buy a new pair for $110. What bastards. I just picked up the Pioneer hdj-1000 and they are built with such quality compared to the Sony's. And they sound MUCH better. I will never buy a pair of Sony headphones again.

Well, that's Sony for you.

However, I've also heard of some people having reliability problems with the Pioneer HDJ-1000 - specifically, the cord within the headband that runs from the left earcup to the right earcup breaking, even though the headphones had seen only light use.

Because of reliability and/or durability concerns, I cannot recommend either the Sonys or the Pioneers - for now.
