VERY nice and informative post, I agreed with every single description and the last rows clearly explains why. 
James Holden's 'A Break in the Clouds' has a great breakdown just as you said, and the way Markus made it live longer is just brilliant. the original track is a bit too dark if you ask me.
Anyways, most DJs will have to reconstruct a tune sooner or later if they want their livesets to be top-notch, it's not some amazing, groundbreaking, new thing, just a handy technique.
