I think this is a complete lie, considering his gigs in Denver, Cleveland, and Charlotte are still on. I would love to know the real reason why they needed to reschedule. |
Honestly he has been ill, there is no doubts in my mind that this has not been the case, in fact i think it was/is pretty severe.
They cancelled his salt lake city show for tommorow as of this morning and it was originally going to happen.
If you look at what they wrote on his site....
"Paul van Dyk US Tour Paul van Dyk caught a severe case of food poisoning this morning (Friday, July 18th) on the island of Ibiza. Thatīs why we had to cancel the first weekend of his US Tour. Salt Lake City, Denver and Cleveland will be as planned. We managed to change Charlotte to Monday 28th of July and Boston on the 30th of August. Paul and his whole office is really sad and just can apologise and hope to replace the cancelled dates in Atlanta, DC and Milwaukee as soon as possible.
I think groovetickets wanted to simplify their response as much as possible because at the end of the day all these cancellations are due to his food poisoning. Maybe he didn't think he could handle so many gigs at once right after getting over this, then fly back home and play these gigs all in a row...
you got to admit this would be tough after getting over this type of illness, this was originally going to be his schedule after the 1st set of cancellations....

i don't care who you are thats a tough damn schedule after just getting over severe food poisoning, dehydration and exhaustion halfway around the world from your next gig. So like i said, realistically all the postponing is directly related to his illness which isn't a lie.

First of all, if you knew my reason at the time why I called it a lie, then you would agree with me. I got an email from the promoter for the Atlanta show on Wed. July 23rd. The email stated that PVD was still sick and could not travel. (fine with me-i hope he gets better) But, when I got this email, the Charlotte, Cleveland, and Denver shows were still on. My problem with this was the fact that the Atlanta show was after these two gigs. So my reasoning was.....why would he play these two gigs and then cancel the Atlanta show due to illness. That's all.
Then, within a few days, those two shows were cancelled as well. Therefore, the promoter was not lying.
