I got 2 JBL SF15's and a Crown Ce-1000. Everything sounds mint. The JBL EON 15 G2 are also very nice as reso previously said. The best thing is to go to Guitar Center, or a something similar, and ask the sales rep to test out some speakers for you. This will give you a general idea of differnet speakers. Ask the sale rep questions as they are their to help you. Also make sure to get a soild amp like Crown to match your speakers.

not trying to be picky but wouldnt you want two so you can have that whole stereo effect, left and right channels... i just love hearing some songs where one hit-hat comes outta one speaker and a clap comes outta the other one... it'll probably make the music in your room sound more spacious that way

Your best advice on an amp? Somthing 10+ years old and made in the U.S.A., NO controls like volume, balance, treble, ect. All you need in inputs, outputs, power switch is nice(right Mr. Carver?!!) and weighs a ton! 45+ Lbs. I can guarantee you a reciever ain't gonna do it for under $5000.

Today people by frills and the more flash it has chances its gonna sell right? Many years ago some companies CUT important things like Power Switches, quality terminals, fans and glamour to put better quality componets (Higher current MosFET's, Bigger Caps,Bigger Transformers inside the plain stamped steel box right? What would you rather have Quality Sound or Quality Glam?

Check audioreview.com & Ebay for $500 - $700 you'll get an 10 - 20 year old dinasour amp that shitkicks and will still outlast every piece of stereo equipment you own

Just out of curiosity, has anyone actually had any experience with this set up? This is what I'm thinking about picking up:

yes I thought about that. It's just that my budget for speakers isn't the highest. These are the original eon15's then correct? I'd like to buy two but I'm not sure if it's really worth it seeing as how most others don't seem to have the most expensive speakers in their home set-up and seem to do fine. I can get each one for probably a little over 300 a piece (USD), are these speakers - just for home use worth it? Or will one give me everything for real? Yea i already asked that, but for everything else?

I'm buying an old Peavey CS400, 400 watt amp from my boss, so is that a good idea then?
