I use regular Technics slipmats w/o wax paper, works great for me, except I flip the mats over so the word "Technics" is down instead of up. I've tried several Stanton mats but they're just waay too rough and thick. I say Technics are your best bet as they work really well and are available at most places.

There isnt really right way to do it, but if you prefer a lighter platter with slicker mats, then dont use the rubber.
You will find most ppl dont use the rubber mat.

i like my s.mats kinda slippery...the stanton ones i have are pretty nice. true that the S is hard though... i want leopard print ones bad! ( to match my room, hehe).
if they made slipmats that look like discoballs, i would buy that in an instant. anyone seen any???

some sites that sell slipmats are
www.planetxusa.com
www.musiciansfriend.com

anybody know any others?
